We rather limit the animation, but if there are a few things like maybe an explosion or some fire then we can manage. So special effects are perfectly fine as long as they aren't too complex, advanced, and you use them sparingly.

How long should the script be?

Shoot for it to translate into a movie anywhere from 10 minute to 15 minutes long, give or take a few minutes. If your movie ends up being around 20 minutes long then we'll make it, but if it ends up being longer then that then we'll have to make some changes to your script and/or how we represent your script in the movie.

So what if my script wins?

Then your movie will be created by amateur actors and editors. The process will end up being you writing the script and then talking to me about how you want everything done in detail. We will then show you the outcome and if you aren't happy with a certain scene then we can do it over again.

Isn't that going to take a long time to do?

Yes so be patient. The first movie might take a week to make, 2 weeks, a month, etc... So on and so forth, but they are being promised.

What genre of movies are you looking for?

There are two categories that we will accept.

Comedy

Anything that is funny. This genre is pretty self explanatory!

Horror/Action

The movie can be horror, it can be action, or it can be a mix of both. Realize that we can't create huge monsters or anything else like that. It would be better if you focused around ghosts, demons, murder movie, zombie, etc... or any other horror related thing that can be acted out by a person.

The top movie from each section will have their movie created. The runner up from each of these categories will have a trailer made for their script instead of a full movie.

What isn't allowed?

Racism, nudity, and basically anything that is illegal.

When my movie is created where can I see it?

It will be uploaded to facebook, the videos section of this website, this profile on youtube, this profile on break.com, this profile on revver, and maybe even newgrounds if the file size is low enough.

A new thread will be created so everyone can see the movie as well.

Wait, live action on newgrounds?

Yes, it's been done before successfully and it will be done again successfully. Tom has even upgraded my upload limit to 20 MB because I have many submissions that are all video and some that are flash/video submitted on newgrounds.

I'll be coauthored and credited right?

You will be credited in every shape and form as the writer of your movie. 20% of the ad revenue will also be credited towards you if submitted to newgrounds.

How does my script win?

There will be a panel of "something" judges who will vote for the best horror/action and comedy. I will not be taking part in this voting to prevent any bias as I will be creating the movies.

Judges will vote by ranking your submission. The top ranked movie that the judge has picked will get a certain amount of points, 2nd place will get a set amount of points less than the top ranked movie, and so on and so forth.

The amount of points will be based on how many scripts are submitted.

What if my script doesn't win?

If we like it then we still might make it down the road! Just remember that since we promise the winners their movies first that yours won't be done for quite some time, but it's very possible and likely to happen if you have a great idea.

Other Stuff

Make the movie realistic enough to make. If you are expecting a huge monster in your movie then we probably won't be able to make it. Airplanes and helicopters, tanks, UFO's, etc... are probably out of the question.

Try to make the script based around two main characters. If you want only one main character then that is also perfectly fine. Three main characters and above can be done, but it may difficult to make. Also try to only have 10 or so extras. Anymore might be pushing it and less is even better.

Remember that these will be rather short films. Try to strive for 10-15 minutes. If it's something that is better done as a sequel then make your movie as it's the first movie in the series and submit part two next time we hold the competition.
