Same question with this one as I had in the last one. Was this taken with a camera or a scanner? I think a scanner would have gotten rid of the slight blur that was created. If it was a scanner then... bad scanner bad...

It's bent leg seems that it will be way too short when it's fully extended... so I measured... and I was wrong. In fact, the foot will make it an entire lizard foot longer than the other legs. Maybe that's too much attention to a cartoon style though.

I really like the shading with the green. I'm not sure if it just naturally happened because of what you were using to color it or if you did some of it on purpose. Either way it's very subtle, but adds some nice texture to him. The mouth bothers me ever so slightly because of the white emptiness that is the outer part towards the bottom left of the screen. You did a good job starting with black in the inner most reaching, but it would have been nice to see a gradual shading all of the way to the end.

Another cool cartoony/tattoo type of drawing. It was a little empty because of the pure white background and would have been a little nicer if there was some more added to it. I can see him on a different shade of green grass or jumping/hanging from a small branch/twig or something.

This got reviewed by the Review Request Club after I left the site for awhile. :( I missed it by 7 years haha. Well, better late than never.

Was this taken as a picture or was it scanned in? I feel like if it were scanned in it would have been pretty easy to make the quality a bit higher and to zoom in to make it a bit bigger. The only bad that I have to say about it is how small it is and how it's a little fuzzy. I also didn't like the choice of lettering on the top. I feel like it wasn't very fitting with the theme of the picture.

Other than that it's hard to get into the gritty details of this submission because of how far away it is. It looks like it would be a pretty awesome tattoo design though.

Should I add the tag? ... yeah why not...

Cheers for the review Fro.

As promised I will reply to them all once I get round to it.

Thinking back I believe this was an upload from a picture taken with a mobile phone :/. Not even smart phones back then. So yeah, I was young and foolish. Not a piece I show off anymore.

Cheers again for the review.

Yeah!

Magikarp and Machamp, two of my favorite original pokemon and here they are in all of their glory combined together.

This Magichamp doesn't take no for an answer when a creepy man asks you to buy him from you outside of a cave in a Pokemon center.

When you teach this Macharp surf he doesn't let you get on his back, he simply throws you across the water.

When he uses splash your face caves in and not even a full restore could bring you back.

Ha, this is really awesome. I love the mashup and you did an amazing job all around.

This is amazing!

I really like Nidoking or as you call him, the big purple dude. He looks like if he were to be in battle mode he'd be the scariest son of a bitch on the screen.

Charizard is definitely a badass here too. He's got battle scars and his neck is super buff. I do think the fire on his tail should have been a bit more intense, but we'll just pretend that he's holding back for the sake of his trainer.

Gyarados really makes me laugh because he doesn't look so much angry as he does simply not impressed with anything.

Everyone else was done really good as well. This guy has a pretty kickass team. It would be neat to see a submission of him as a younger trainer with all of the base pokemon of these evolutions.

I really like the background and colors used here. The shading and shadows were pretty awesome. On the topic of shadows I feel like the shadows of the rocks and his body maybe should have been facing straight back instead of to the back right corner. I understand that there seems to be a strong light source taking it that direction, but the shadows seem to completely ignore any effect that the lightning around Jack Wernicke would have on the direction of the shadows. Also, it would have been really cool to see a shadow of the boss with a darker outline to really give a good feel for how intense the battle is about to be.

I feel like some of the proportions are off a little. The lower body is very long while the upper body seems to be a little short. The arms bug me a little because the forearms are the same size or bigger than the upper arm. The ankles seem extremely tiny for the size of his legs and the neck seems odd for some reason. I think it may be how much of a point it comes to on the top. On the hands the fingers are odd sizes. It's weird that some fingers that should be smaller than the thumb in girth are actually thicker.

Overall it's a really awesome piece and a new approach on a Madness character. It would be pretty cool to see a flash series created using characters in this style.

Swffr responds:

I did the shading and lighting really late at night so it was kinda rushed, i'll keep that in mind for future drawings; Agreed, the body anatomy and proportions are off and should have been adjusted accordingly (this was originally just a pose sketch) I felt like this was perfect for Jack and incorporated it anyways. Overall, a lot could be added and fixed on every aspect of this. I appreciate the time you took to critique my drawing, thank you.

So this kind of blew my mind. To this point, even after looking at and reviewing hundreds of submissions I had no clue that you could post an animated gif. That's just awesome.

So I really like the style and shading all around. The blood splatter were neat, but since this is animated it would have been cool if the dripped a little and were a little more "fluid" if that makes sense.

The quality is a bit fuzzy. I was wondering if that had something to do with the process of uploading or if it turned out that way before you submitted it. If it's the second one then there needs to be some cleaning up before it gets submitted in my opinion.

Overall an awesome little gif. that was simply mad.

CaptainJackTHAC0 responds:

thanks for the feedback! I just found out recently you could upload gifs as art XD

(Basically insert copy and past of my last review here, but don't actually do that because it wouldn't be a good thing to do in the review section)

Again, could use some contrast like your last piece. Maybe a red dragon attacking the the tiger? In all seriousness something red in the background instead of just the white could really make this stick out and look better.

MonoFlauta responds:

Almost same copy and paste of the last review hahaha. Same thing, just copied it on paper and give it a shot. I guess that by that time I still believed I could get better at drawing haha

This is really good. Did you take a picture of it or scan it in? It kind of looks like you took a picture of it, but it would have turned out a little better if it was scanned. If it was scanned then ignore what I just said. :P It is kind of dark though and a little bit of light would have made it show up more clear.

I feel like it needs some contrast. Maybe a blue tiger or something fighting the dragon! Or some sort of basic color in the background to make it pop more.

MonoFlauta responds:

I just looked to an image from google and tried to replicate it on paper. Sure I would have done it a lot better if it was scanned but well, wanted to try it out!
Thanks for the review!

How much sir? I'd like to purchase the piece of art for my living room wall. Do you ship across borders like that?

MonoFlauta responds:

I would love to, but it will be difficult to do that from my country haha.
Anyway, thanks for the review and probably you will be able to find something better for your living room wall!

I really like this. The forest, trees, and deer really work well together. I'm not sure if I like the color of the person standing in the picture as it seems way out of place with the other color choices, but perhaps you had a reason for that.

I could see the woods being used as a background in an animation. Great job.

MonoFlauta responds:

Thanks! This was an old thing, as always, the art is not my strong part but well, had fun doing it!
