Needs some simple things done to it.

~ Animation/Graphics ~

I know you probably didn't have time to create something great as the death wasn't something we knew ahead of time, but there are still some simple things that you could have done without the fancy animations that everyone is talking about.

Picture quality was alright and the transitions between pictures was also alright. Nothing too bad visually.

~ Story/Content ~

Jumping on the tribute bandwagon I see. :P

Well it's basically just like the other tributes that were done without any animation.

The Bio that you used could have been much better. I think it would have been better if you put it in your own words, made it shorter, and made the text bigger/easier to read for the viewers.

I think what could have really made this better was instead of just the simple transition in between the photos that you could have used some nice quotes. For example fade the picture to black, use some nice white font to have a quote that represents death, mourning, or even a quote that Billy Mays had used himself. Fade back to the next picture, etc..

I also may think that you used a couple too many pictures. This started to drag on after awhile and got a little boring.

~ Audio ~

I think a cool thing would have been for you to add voice over for the Bio itself. That and if you were to include quotes like I suggested then you could read them out or get a voice actor to do it for you.

The music you choice for the submission was good in itself, but wasn't very tribute like. I'm thinking something a little bit sadder would have worked or if you wanted to go more comical using something from Charles Angels or Michael Jackson. :P

~ Overall ~

I myself am a fan of nonflash/non animated projects on newgrounds as long as they are done well. I think there was a lot of things that you could have done to make this submission better. Hopefully some of my ideas were good.

Not bad, needs some work, but pretty good!

~ Animation/Graphics ~

I would say that this is really the only downfall of the submission if you could even call it a downfall. The graphics were pretty good all around, but seemed like it needed a little bit more detail. Not too bad though. The animation was kind of crude. It got the job done, but I think the score would be much better if the animation was a tad bit smoother.

~ Story/Content ~

I liked how this made people think it was going to start off as some sort of war movie or some sort of sad movie, but you turned it around into something happy. Perhaps I should have realized that by your icon, but I'll admit that I didn't see it coming at all. So your submission wasn't predictable in any sense and was pretty original.

I think that you should have animated the sun a bit more. So it seemed more alive instead of just basically the background. Making it seem like it was on fire, etc.. The length of the submission was a tad short too. I think it could have been about 30 seconds longer or so.

~ Audio ~

Pretty good sound effects and choice of music all around. I think what was missing though was some more summer sounds. I think the sounds of birds chirping really would have made this feel even happier then it already was.

~ Overall ~

I think I suggested a couple of cool things to add to it and if the animation was a bit smoother I think this would be much better. An all around nice submission though. Keep up the good work.

cool, thanks fro
i'll be sure to add thoes in when i have the time

The story gets better. O.o

Sometimes I like how your characters think they can think on their own, but we all know they can't think their own thoughts and that you are actually the owner of what they think about even when they think they control their thinking.

The fact that your characters come back every episode kind of takes away from the excitement of your movies a little bit. The thoughts that run through my head are, "Oh this guy died... doesn't matter though since he will just be back in the next episode." The thoughts that I would be thinking if you didn't have that would be, "Oh I wonder what's going to happen in his next episode since this character died? I can't wait!", but I can admit that there is some excitement in it.

Now I can change my thoughts to, "I wonder how this character will die and who he's going to piss off this episode." I guess it's just how you approach the submission.

This does make me wonder what could happen in the next episode. My mind is wondering whether it's going to be about News Reporter as he has the week off or if it's going to be about News Reporter as he comes back from the week off. O.o It's mind boggling, but I'll have to find out the old fashion way by watching the next episode.

Animation/Graphics are the same as usual, the story/content was just about what to expect from one of your movies, and the audio was a little inconsistent, but for the most part good voice acting like usual.

Murray responds:

All I can say is, the fun nevver stops at the news studio.

Not bad at all.

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Everyone had a good selection of gifts and styles. (No I'm not going to go into individual reviews this time)

Each were done well and I couldn't really see any that really needed a lot of critiquing. Perhaps just some of the ones such as yours that didn't have detailed bodies could have used a bit more facial features and things like that.

~ Story/Content ~

A very simple idea for a flash collab. I like that at the end you showed everyone's animation, but I think you should have also made it so you could select which one you wanted to see and how long you wanted to see it.

It might have also been a cool idea to have it so you can drag the characters into a room of your choice kind of like a dress up sort of game.

~ Audio ~

Ha, very fitting music for a flash submission about dancing. Nothing to critique here at all.

~ Overall ~

Another simple collab, but animation wise it was done very well. Perhaps a bit more content could have been used and some cool mini games like I mentioned.

Insanimation responds:

No individual reviews? I feel so let down:(

Thanks for the review!

Not bad

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Pretty decent animation, but also pretty crude for the most part. I can say that I think it got it's job done in this submission, but there was still room for improvement. Things such as the character himself just looks quite odd to me.

When he was swaying back and forth it just seemed too animated. Like he was going way too fast and it just looked unnatural.

The lip syncing wasn't the best, but wasn't terrible at all. Looks like it could have been done just a tad bit better.

~ Story/Content ~

I never saw the real music video so I don't really know how it compares, but I personally wouldn't have minded seeing more things done instead of the basic singing alone and playing guitar.

More things like the car accident, etc.. Which happens to be my favorite scene by the way. Done rather well in my opinion.

I guess my biggest deal is I had no clue what was going on. The whole tooth thing and the blood dripping into the persons mouth... I was just left with the WTF!?

~ Audio ~

Great quality audio. I would hope so if it was done by someone more famous (even if I haven't ever heard of them or heard any of their music)

The animation went along great with the audio so good job there. That's basically the single and most important thing about making a music video.

~ Overall ~

A good music video, which has room for improvement in the graphics/animation section.

Insanimation responds:

Alright, thanks for the feedback :)

Well it had to be rushed.

It had to be rushed because it was a last minute thing. It's not really something that you can plan out a couple days ahead of time.

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Not the best. Even for something being rushed it's still not the best, but it's not terrible at all. I would have liked to see more backgrounds than the black background that you used the entire time. (Sounds like MJ being sick of being black all of the time)

Anyway, perhaps more detailed backgrounds, art work needs a little bit of work, and some parts were actually rushed to the point that they went so fast and I had no clue what I just saw on the screen.

~ Story/Content ~

Tributes to tributes can be fun sometime. The one thing they always are is hypocritical though. Such as you saying put it on youtube, when this tribute is basically the same quality and serves almost the same purpose as those submissions. You put your stuff on youtube then. :P

Ha, actually hate when people say that...

It started off kind of funny, but throughout the entire thing you slowly start to realize that you were just trying to be too funny and trying too hard to be funny is rarely funny.

I would have liked to seen the humor be more subtle and spread out throughout the entire submission instead of just kind of packed in the first half of the submission.

~ Audio ~

Voice acting was fine, but the quality of the voice was terrible. Sounds like you just have a very poor microphone to me. So I guess the choices are to get a better mic. or to use a voice actor in the future. A large section of your movie I didn't understand because I couldn't hear what was being said.

~ Overall ~

Your basic tribute to tributes that actually is basically the same as the tributes at hand.

~ Review Request Club ~

blackcat2000 responds:

Indeed, I realized how tribute-like this tribute was, but... I liked mine better =D
Thanks for the review, you'll hear more of my microphone in my next animation >.<"

I'll review it like a flash submission

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Terrible all around. Stuff that you didn't make and you just copied from somewhere else, which is fine because I tend to do sprite stuff every now and then and this really isn't any different.

Please for the love of god put some kind of background into the submission. No detail no anything. Would have been much better if they were in some sort of space station or something similar like that.

Animation was so shaky and wasn't smooth at all. Hmm, looks like you really didn't try to make it that great and that you rushed. Not saying that you did, but that's just how it looks.

~ Story/Content ~

None whatsoever. Why though? Just because it's in pivot doesn't mean you can't do something with some sort of story behind it. Nobody wants to see a stick fight that lasts less then a minute with hardly any action whatsoever and on top of that no reasoning behind anything. Some people can make good ones like that, but you didn't do a great job of it.

Perhaps making it longer, etc..

I recommend getting flash and doing stuff in there with it. Even with my videos I do stuff in flash with it. That would make my live action videos more flash then your little stick guys. Ironic no?

~ Audio ~

A submission like this not only needs a story, but also needs voices for the characters. This could also include animations for the mouth movement, but I don't know if your ready for work like that yet so keep practicing.

Music was alright, but I would also like to see you do something with sound effects. Lasers, swooshes, etc.. You know.. the small details that make submissions good.

~ Overall ~

I'll review it like a flash submission

Death and potty mouthing.

That's what all your submissions are about. Just poor violence and wear words all the time. :P

In my opinion not the best sequel to what was a pretty good introduction. I would have liked seen more interesting things going on in the background, more interesting news things (not that the ones that you had weren't funny, but I think perhaps that you could have included a couple more), and just a longer story line with more content then what was given.

Just like half of your submissions someone dies and there is still the rest of the series, so obviously they come back. Hmm, I can guess that News Reporter might get pretty pissed or he might even be scared of Bahamut from now on. I was actually expecting Bahamut to jump down and give him a nice mouth laser thing, but the bomb was used instead.

So probably not the best sequel, but I'm sure you'll make up for it in the next episode.

Murray responds:

You'll learn about News Reporter's emotions soon enough. :)

Good work guys.

Sorry if I spelled people's names wrong, but in my opinion the font you used was very hard to read and I couldn't tell the difference between some letters.

Cool menu and music used for this collab.

Dante224 - Orange guy with big smile - Very simple, the arm movement made it look the best in my opinion, but the leg movement wasn't the best. The head of the character just looks out and out of place, but I guess this is more about the walking more than anything.

Person sneaking - This was really good. The colors used, the mixture of white and black, the animation and movement, and the shadow was awesome. Good job here.

Snake in the boot - Very simple again, but not too bad at all. I think there could have been more work put into the transition of the different movements. Especially in the boot itself with the line that gets slightly bigger.

Dayl - Odd... why does the character get bigger as he walks? Looks a little off to me personally. Other than that great walking motion. The shoe lace was a sweet addition.

Fjgamer - Girl - Good graphics, but just looks like an incomplete walk cycle. Leaves me with the feeling that it needs to be finished.

Guy - The legs seem great this time around, but you didn't involve the upper body. Even when trying to keep the upper body still it's very unnatural to have it that stiff.

FruityPeeblls - Very simple, cartoon style. Could be used in a small background character and look pretty good.

Insanimation - Looks good all around. No complaints about anything here. Big head lol.

Jkamovies - Woah, that's about perfect in my opinion. The amount of detail and effort that was put into this was amazing.

Magical zorse - A very good cartoon style walk cycle. Seems like it would look good in a flash.

Mahora - Simple, could be used for a small background piece, but I don't think it's amazing enough to have as a main character or main piece, etc..

Medoukalivincent - Not too bad at all man. Kind of slow, but this would go great in a scene where someone was strutting down the street with some "cool" music in the background.

Randomini - Good job all around. Another one of my favorites on here and looks like a great style.

RooJames - Too simple. The artwork and everything was good, but it just looks unnatural as the legs don't really bend or anything likes that.

Sefyz - Car - I could see this being used in some crazy cartoon flash, but not the best walk cycle on here. Not too bad, but art work gets a little sloppy when the legs are up.

Green guy - A better one here for Sefyz. Really cartoony and I think it is done very well. One of the better ones on here.

Handycap guy - There we go. Perhaps the best on here. Very fluent movement and looks good all around. Good artwork and everything.

Starownage3 - Woo, way to end it off with a moonwalk. Not to bad at all, but neck movement and artwork look like they could be improved greatly.

Insanimation responds:

Woah, thanks for doing every part individually, it was nice to have a proper breakdown of it all. I <3 this review :)

Sad thing is I'm the only one who'll read it, and I'm the only one who you didn't really give any criticism :P

Woot great job everyone!

~ Animation/Graphics ~

You guys always know that I love the sprite/pixel/8bit type of styles. That's why I'm happy when you guys request a review in our club. :)

Animation was very smooth all around. I really couldn't find anything wrong with the graphics or anything like that. This was really done well.

~ Story/Content ~

Very original. Something that I wouldn't have thought about at all for a submission. I love how the clouds were just being slaughtered left and right like they were actual living things.

The game was a nice little addition, both in the submission, which I admit that I wasn't ready for at all (perhaps a countdown or warning for it?) and the one that you could play before the movie loaded.

~ Audio ~

Good music. There really wasn't any room for voices or sound effects so this was really good.

~ Overall ~

Everyone did a wonderful job. In my opinion it was a very successful collab as it turned out really good. Keep up the hard work everyone.
