I must be missing what everyone else is seeing. I'm almost so certain that I'm missing it that I even gave it a bonus point on my rating. I guess there really wasn't much that I enjoyed about the song.

In the beginning it seemed like it was set up to be a decent song. Then it just kind of went on and on.. and on.. and on... and there wasn't really anything in it that made it an enjoyable song. In my opinion it was rather boring and really didn't contain anything to make me ever want to hear it again.

The quality itself really didn't take anything away though. Maybe the fact that the song was so long made me not enjoy it. To me personally I would probably have enjoyed it much more if 3 minutes were taken off of it or so. :/

So yeah, sorry for not enjoying your song and sorry for not really being able to figure out how to make it "better", but I gave my god honest opinion on it and you can't ask for much more can you?

I have to admit that the quality of the music and the quality of the voices really ruined this submission for me. It sounded like it was going to be a pretty good song and I do enjoy the effects that you used very much, but I couldn't understand much if any of it as it was very static like and just plain hard to understand.

I know there isn't much you can do about that expect for getting some better recording equipment, but for this to sound good I highly recommend it. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that the song sounded good because personally from what I could make out it did.

For now though I recommend putting the lyrics on your author comments.

Hm, I don't have any songs, but you can check out a flash or two if you want. :P

Yeah, I haven't heard the original so I can't really compare it or anything of the sort, but it does sound pretty good all around. I guess it just wasn't what I was expecting in this case. The rain and thunder sound effect in the beginning, which sounded great, just set me up for something that I thought was going to be a bit more dark or hopeless for some reason.

Even though the song had a lot of variety and never got repetitive or anything of that sort, I still found it to be kind of bland and empty. I don't really know what you could have done to not make it feel like this, but it's the impression that I got from it.

I usual tend to enjoy classical music very much, but this wasn't exactly my cup of tea this time.

Why would you ever want to purposely make a depressing song. Sure I understand if it comes out depressing because of current emotions, but why would anyone purposely make one?

Anyways, if you had heard the original, you would of known what to expect coming into this. In the game, when you play the song, it rains, and storms. Thus the storms.

Sorry that you found it bland, but thanks for the review anyways!

I think I have a bit of a different view on this song. He couldn't quite put a meaning on it, but I have a way that I can interrupt to myself. (Even if it's not what you wanted it to mean)

To me it seems like it's about a person who has problems, who has trouble, who has conflict, etc..., but instead of getting excited and letting his emotions take over he has accepted in his life that there is going to be change and because he has accepted it he can confront every situation in his life and enjoy the challenge and the many fun things along the way.

Me seeing it like that though I wouldn't mind perhaps seeing sounds that would represent a little bit of conflict in the beginning of the song and then kind of get away with it to represent happiness. (But again, that's just how I thought about this song and it might not be where you were going with it)

The song itself sounds good, very happy. I actually enjoyed the fade at the end of the song. I feel that you can only make a fade sound good on certain songs and this was one of them.

Awesome! I usually end my songs in fades-- and I don't often like it, but this is a case in which I must agree with you.
And it's a lot like your second paragraph, but I'm not always able to overcome all the complex feelings washing over me, but when I can-- and I realize that I have-- that's when I like to write music. Hell, sometimes the music helps me get there. In this case I had already made it past the stage of resolution, which is why I think there's no dissonance, and that probably makes this slightly less meaningful than it could have been. Some of my other stuff does resolve in-song though, which I hope to get back to later (even though that means I probably have to run into more life problems first :P )
Thanks for the review, I know exactly what you are talking about, and I'll see if I can't make some stuff with resolving conflict as opposed to simple resolution.

Yeah, this is a great job of remixing an already awesome song. The only thing is you did take away it's usefulness in battles as this is almost a happy song now with the touch that you have given it.

Still great quality though and it sounds like it would be something very useful for ending credits of a RPG style game. Not only does the song sound great, but it sparks great memories of a very good game that I enjoyed a lot.

Again, one of your better pieces that I've heard. Very good and keep up the good work!

Man this song scared the shit out of me. XD I had my volume way up and it just really started loud and sudden right from the beginning. No build up or anything, just an explosion of sound in my eardrum. Great for getting people's attention right away. :P

The song itself sounds great as a loop. Really doesn't get much better as a loop actually. It's about perfect length so it's not too short and has enough variety in the short amount of time in the song so it never really gets repetitive (unless you listen to it to many times in a row).

Great as a loop and sounds like it would be great if you continued it. Right after the end of the song I would suggest picking the song back up fast paced just as it sounds when it loops because it's great timing in that spot.

Sorry I'm late for the party, I was busy. (You should respond to all of the RRC reviews ;) they would appreciate it)

As a heavy metal fan I would say, meh not too good. I guess when I think of heavy metal I think of something that makes me want to get up and punch the nearest person and this... didn't sound like that lol. I think it was the artificial sounding guitars. It's just hard to get that brutal metal sound when the guitar isn't real.

Now not even considering the genre the song itself was pretty cool. Quick pace and fun to listen to. Almost a happy type of song, which again is the opposite of what I think about when thinking about heavy metal songs.

So good song overall, but as a heavy metal fan I didn't really like it as a heavy metal song. (if that makes sense)

Step responds:

Thank you for the review :). I never really listened to Heavy Metal much, usually I just listen to a bit of rock, which is probably why it doesn't give out that 'I wanna punch the nearest person' feeling :P. The guitars were from soundfonts, so I can't imagine them sounding any good, but they were the best guitars I had. The rest sounded like static :\... Anyway, glad you liked it as a song, and thanks for the tips.

I'm just not digging your stuff man. Not saying that your music is bad, but it just clashes with what I enjoy I guess. I thought the song really dragged on too long, but again makes for amazing ambient music if you can find something that needs 7 minutes of ambient music. It really could have ended after 3 minutes lol. I might have enjoyed it a bit better if it did.

The introduction was my favorite part though as it had this creepy feeling to it and almost reminded me of something such as Silent Hill or anything else that's unexplainable, scary, crazy, and/or creepy.

Monkeydelic responds:

i defineatly understand, it's very mood specific music, and it's not for everyone.
I'll also make the song alittle shorter in the future.

Thanks for the review :)

Namaste.

Well... In just two songs you've easily made it right into my favorite authors list and both of the songs that I reviewed made it into my favorites as well.

The hard thing to do as a reviewer is to actually review this submission. I just simply can't think of anyway to review or critique it so instead I'm just going to go ahead and give you praise. I'm sure you won't mind. :P

I could basically copy and paste my last review for this song. It has that very epic sound to it and sounds like it was taken straight out of a professional song.

As soon as the song started I just new it was going to have that Epic Adventure type feeling to it and it sure did. So many possibilities for this song in a flash animation or movie and I'm going to favor it just in case I ever have a project in the future where it would seem fitting.

It's very professional and sounds like it came right out of a full featured film. Something with warriors/hero's in it or even something with dinosaurs. (Lol, I know dinosaurs are really random, but I thought about it for some reason)

Great job on this one!
