I got engaged and stuff.

I asked my long term girlfriend and partner to marry me on Christmas morning. I made a topic about it if you want to see a picture of the ring.

I've also been hitting the gym really hard ever since August. I've recently hit a personal best on Deadlift of 445 pounds. I've been getting progressively better at it. I plan on posting a video once I can do 500.

My love of the weight room has reminded me how much I loved sports growing up and how important they were too me. I've taken on some coaching jobs at a local highschool for football and track. (On top of my 7-4 desk job)

Things are about to get busy, but for the first time in awhile it's filled with jobs that don't actually feel like work, but instead with things that I really love.

Congrats on the engagement and also getting ripped!

I'm far from ripped, that usually involves eating well at a calorie deficit or at maintenance levels, something I can't commit myself to do. I enjoy food too much.

CONGRATS BOY

Thanks boy!

CONGRATS!! And damn, 445??? JFC

Thanks. It's been a journey of learning a lot about the human body. I was surprised how much science was behind it.

445 pounds ~ 205 KG. It is fucking brutall!
At end of next year I'll try reach your level.
But today only flex with childish weights.

I don't have an end weight in mind. Perhaps when my nose starts bleeding!

Congratulations on the engagement mate!

Thank you!

Your love for sports might explain that currently otherworldly physique you seem to be boasting, office job and all. ;) Congrats again! Sounds like you're living the life. All that ubering and part-time hustle really paying off and paving ways to a greater tomorrow.

The back pain from the office job was actually one of the main motivators to go back to the gym.

Mmm I've got some of that too. 2020 motivations...

Our work had a safety fair where one of the stations was a physical therapist. I explained my lower back pain and we went through a bunch of tests which showed my core muscles were weak. Not just the abs, but the core as a whole including the glutes and hips. He showed me some body weight excercises that I could do and within a week I had eliminated years of back pain. I implemented these concepts into my lifting routine as well. Been half a year without an ounce of back pain for the first time since I was a kid.

Ah, that sounds almost too good to be true. I feel like bad posture over time would have consequences that are harder to get rid of, but if it really is all that easy... worth a try. Any very specific exercises there, or just any ones that take all muscle groups into consideration? Basic core training.

Basic core and also a focus on the glute muscles. The glute muscle rolls into the lower back and this is where most of the pain actually comes from. These are good if you don't have access to weights. https://redefiningstrength.com/target-those-glutes-15-bodyweight-glute-exercises/

I do a lot of these in the gym though.

Congrats!

Watch out though, you'll become the Highschool Hearthrob with a bod like yours.

Ah alright, thanks for the links. I definitely don't do any of these. I lift weights at home but nothing that really trains the lower back it seems.

Thats really cool hope yall have a great marriage

Yay. Congratulations
