OHP Record (picture/video)

Posted by Fro - October 29th, 2020

I've been posting in the work out thread, but wanted to show everyone my bald head.

I recently beat my personal record on Overhead Press. Also known as military press, shoulder press, or strict press.

My old record was 185 pounds. New record is 205 pounds.

I tried for 225 and made it to my forehead before slipping and failing. I plan on adding 5 pounds a week. The goal is to have 225 in a month, 2 months max.

After that I'll focus on getting a big deadlift goal.

Nice, and that gym looking pretty empty too, wonder how it'd be to really work out wit a mask on, that thing about oxygen and stuff? Never an issue? More weight less cardio?

Yeah, it's pretty easy to get to the equipment I want to because there aren't a lot of people going. We live in a super low case area and the gym does a good job of ventilation and cleaning.

I'm pretty use to the mask. I can do cardio with it now as well. I do mostly lifting and do my cardio outside seperate from the gym. What sucks, quite literally, is when I take in a big breath before a lift the mask gets sucked into my mouth.

Nice.

Maybe there's actually some benefit to it in the long run, bit like training at higher altitude. :) When you finally take that mask of: finna have superhuman lung capacity/oxygen uptake!

XD Unexpected downsides...

Maybe like the Denver Broncos football team. Their stadium, Mile High, is as you guessed, a mile high on a mountain. This makes the air super thin. They're use to it, but all of the other teams are on oxygen on the sidelines. Must have some sort of positive effect on conditioning when they are playing in not so thin air.

Interesting! Wonder how many others train with that in mind, if they do have that in mind in training there.... does seem like it should matter yeah.

buff, buff, buff it uppp~
