I know I don't come around often....

So life update....

Wife and kid are good.

Dog old, but good.

Cats are assholes and drive me crazy, but good.

Me good.

I did lose my father this year. We didn't talk often. He had a falling out a year or two ago and just stopped talking. I forgave him and got to spend one weekend with him and a visit with him in the hospital a few months later where he shortly passed away a few days later. He was in poor health with a variety of issues, but was too stubborn to die. He was starting a fire with some gasoline (like the fool he was) and it backfired catching him on fire.

He was in a trauma center and recovering well after surgeries. He was ready to go home in a couple of days, but turned to my mom one night, said it wasn't fair to her that she had to take care of him the rest of their lives and simply died.

I do miss him. He was abusive, he wasn't a good dad growing up, but I only remember the good now.

But I'm good, I swear.

So what have I been doing? Training, training hard.

A year older and more world championships to compete at. Last year I ended up taking 5th at the Arnold World Championship. This year there are higher stakes...

This year they introduced the Pro division to my weight class. If I can take top 3 in the world I'll become a professional Strongman. Something that I never thought could be a possibility!

I reached out to @TomFulp approximately 4 years ago and asked for a New grounds T-shirt to rep at my first Strongman competition. He sent one, I won, and the rest is history.

One world title also happened in that timeframe, but to be honest I've been floating by. I believe this is my last real attempt at doing the unthinkable. Become a professional athlete at the age of 36. 4 years after starting my sport.

I'd like to retire from the sport soon. I'm getting older. I want to spend more time with my family. I want to do more nerdy things like write, play games, and go on newgrounds lol

So if you can give a little, that would be great. I'm hoping to go out on top!

Sorry to hear about your dad, happy to hear about your strongman progress! Looking forward to seeing how far you get before retirement!

You genuinely look like a giga-chad.

Good to hear from you, Fro! The dad news sounds like a lot of mixed emotions. Remember that the NG community has your back! You’ll do great things!

Awesome to hear that you've won your first Strongman competition 4 years ago! I'm also sorry about your dad. Also, cool pic!

My condolences about your dad, there's gotta be a lot of mixed feelings when it comes to things like that- especially remembering the bad and the good.

I'm late on this, but I'm glad you are doing okay. Sorry to hear about your dad and I hope you are currently doing okay. Stay strong.

holy shit, you're jacked as fuck bro! and as a guy in my early 30s, your story is really motivating!
