Good soundboard.

Animation/Graphics - The layout was done pretty well. I can't really think of anything else to add to this at all. There isn't much that you can do with the visuals of a soundboard anyway.

Story/Content - You had a lot of things to choose from, but to be honest when I think of a sound board I think of small sentences. Something like three to five words, give or take a couple of words. I think small phrases are much better than anything too long. The new pictures with the old sounds was sort of weird.

Audio - The voices sounded good and were pretty clear. Easy to understand and everything. Decent all around here.

Overall - A very decent soundboard that you have made here. I think the only thing that I recommend is shorting the phrases, but that may be a personal preference more than anything.

Thanks for another review, and I agree with you on the old/new background thing. I would have used an old background if I could have found one, but I couldn't.

Awesome job.

Animation/Graphics - This is a really high quality game that you have here. All of the animation was very smooth and drawings were well done. I understand you didn't draw anything more than squares, but everything about the game was good on the eyes. The color used, background, etc...

Story/Content - Not an original idea, but still a very fun game. I personally thought it was a little easy, but that's just me. The only level that I died more than two times on was level 5. I think that might be because it was the first "hard" or different level. After that I knew what to expect though.

I think you can really add to this game and add different shapes. That would bring a lot of different element to the game because trying to aviod a circle and triangle is obviously different from trying to advoid a square every time just because of the shape.

Something else that you may want to think about making for the game in the future is upgrades. Something like having a time for each level and the sooner they finished the level the more money they received. They could then by small upgrades like a shield that takes one hit before it disappears, speed upgrade, maybe a health upgrade so it takes more hits to kill you, etc...

Audio - I thought it was a great choice for audio here. Really fast pace and quick just like the game itself. I don't think it needs any sound effects, but if you do implement the money and store to the game you could add some money sounds and things like that. That's obviously completely up to you though.

Overall - A good game to play and perhaps if it had things like upgrades it could be a little better.

AntoArts-Admin responds:

I don't know if it would work any well with a store. It's a great idea, but I think that most of the upgrades would probably make the game too easy

Basic

Animation/Graphics - The drawings really need to be worked on. That's the biggest thing that's going to improve on your score of the flash. I recommend not only working a lot on your drawing skills here, but perhaps try adding some actual animated items. I know that most dress up games don't include animated objects, but I really think it adds to the quality of the flash when they have them.

Story/Content - Wow, what a good title because it was basically the same as any other beginner dress up game. Nothing too exciting, poor drawing, etc... I think the only way that dress up games get any attention anymore is if they are different in some way. If this means adding some animated things, doing a subject that hasn't been done before, etc... You should try something different out in the future.

I think you should also add backgrounds that the person playing can change to so they can find something interesting. Something like the different colors, snow, cave, forest, city, etc... Anything cool that would make it more visual.

Audio - Decent audio. I see that when you click the button twice the song plays twice, but a lot of dress up games and other games alike are like that. The choice of having more than one song was a nice part of the flash.

Overall - It's basically the generic dress up game.

Frenzy responds:

Yeah, this was basically my first attempt at a full body dress up game. I know it's not great but hey I tried.

Decent job.

Animation/Graphics - There really wasn't any animation so perhaps in the future you could think about having the drums animate when you click on them. The drawings themselves weren't too bad, but could have been worked on a little better. Maybe simply adding background, color, and working on the drawing could have greatly improved the visuals of this flash a lot more also.

Story/Content - Nothing much here, but things you could add would be something like the drummer to the drums. That of course would add a little bit more animation, but I think it would add to the submission a lot. This could also open up a lot of things in the game like having the people be able to "dress" or just choose their drummer and then see them in action.

Audio - Of course the audio was perfectly fine. I think it sounded very good all around. Not too much more to say than that.

Overall - I think simply working on the visuals and adding a few things to the content of the flash like the drummer and little dress up section with the drummer could greatly increase the score of your flash.

Watch out for the sequel (once I figure out the hotkeys actionscript!)

Thanks for the review.

Nothing too interesting.

Animation/Graphics - You had a lot of different colors and everything, but perhaps adding some other things like pictures of things and have them warp/stretch/etc... as you move the mouse certain ways. It was laggy on my computer, but if I turned it down to low quality and it was then perfectly fine. Overall the layout could have been just a little bit better quality.

Story/Content - Um... why? Ha, it really isn't too exciting to do or anything like that. Perhaps if it was a game like you had to get certain colors into certain areas like that then it wouldn't be too bad, but it really has no point. It's rather boring and isn't really too interesting to watch.

Audio - A decent choice for audio. Perhaps in the future you could make it so you could select from a menu what audio you wanted to listen to.

Overall - I just can't see a purpose to this flash. Isn't really entertaining or anything of the such. Perhaps just a good practice of the actionscript skills.

therealmoomoomoomoo responds:

OK, some good ideas there, ty for the review ;P!

Not bad.

Animation/Graphics - The graphics are pretty good. Everything was pretty colorful and well detailed. I felt the robot animation was done very well.

Story/Content - Not bad. The only thing that was kind of annoying. (very annoying actually) Was the fact that the hit detection was off by quite a bit. Santa didn't really have to hit the robots for them to die. As long as he was close enough it would hit. So I would say work a little bit on the hit detection.

Audio - It would have been nice if you would have added sound effects. Maybe next time? The audio that you used though was pretty good and I enjoyed the music that you chose for the flash.

Overall - Just the one problem that I pointed out, but other than that it's really not too bad.

MrRandomist responds:

Thanks for your review!!!
yes the hit detection was off unfortunetly but time restraints, normally i would do pretty adverage hit detection but this one was off and im for that! and i keep using the same excuse i know!
as the gut below you said about sound effects i will included them next time!!! for sure i like working with sound!

Good improvements.

Animation/Graphics - Hmm, if my memory serves me right it wasn't too much different than your last version of this game. For the most part the graphics were perfectly fine. Perhaps a little bit mediocre, but there isn't much room for improvement with the style of game you were making in my opinion. For the most part things were pretty well organized and everything. The animation was also pretty smooth and I didn't have any troubles while shooting the objects or anything. The seemed to explode on time also.

Story/Content - Hmm, again this is where you improved from the last one. You added a bunch of things to shoot. I noticed that the store had two things and you couldn't buy the one thing. The other thing was a new gun and it doesn't really do anything does it? Also, you should be able to buy this gun unless you have the score for it. You can buy this gun at anytime, which means that if you don't have the score it will just subtract a little bit from you.

For some reason a couple of the objects in the instructions, descriptions, and in the background could be shot for points both positive and negative. I'm not sure if you meant to do that or not, but it's a nice little way of "cheating" to get your score higher.

I don't think I have too much to talk about on things that you could improve upon except for trying to master upgrades and trying to make it so you can actually lose the game by perhaps making it so if you don't get a certain score that you lose and you can't continue. If you did do this than obviously I didn't score low enough to find out. :P

Audio - The sound effects were alright. The background music was pretty fitting for the flash also. The voices were a nice addition, but perhaps making them a little bit clearer because at times I can't really understand what they are saying. They aren't that bad though. Perhaps adding some voice overs where the instructions are could add to the quality of the flash also.

Overall - I will give you a couple of bonus points because of your obvious improvement on the game from the last one that you made. Keep up the good work and good luck on future projects.

Lord-Of-Lazyness responds:

Yes unfortunately I did have trouble with mastering power ups, though the game turned out better then I hoped*after fixing it*. Naturally I missed a few bugs after a couple of hours of debugging. I completely forgot to put in the losing code, I focused on the last bit of game more(which I had done this throughout the game) it might have been better(this was done over a few months, naturally I thought of better ideas later thus the beginning is not as good). I used the voices from the original Punkin shoot(yes I fit my user name here, did not want make many more).

Thanks for the review.

Not too bad.

Animation/Graphics - Pretty good visuals for a quiz submission. You usually don't see too much animation with quizzes or the backgrounds are rather dull or boring. You managed to get away from the boring old stuff like that and made it easier on the eyes. I liked the timer and the timer animation with the tank too.

Story/Content - You had a lot of good questions and perhaps some bad questions. There are some things that I never heard of and I've been here for quite awhile. You do need questions like that though to make it more difficult so I'm not really complaining. There were some questions that I didn't even have to think about as I was either a part of some things or just knew them. A lot of things aren't really things that you should expect anyone to know really. I'm sure even Tom himself would have gotten a couple of these questions wrong. The ranking was a little forgiving in my opinion. I say I got well over half of the questions wrong the first time and probably a quarter of the questions wrong the second time around, but still got Newgrounds Admin. You would think that somebody that didn't even know half of the information wouldn't be an admin on newgrounds. :/ Perhaps ranks that are a little bit more stricter because it seems like it's extremely easy to get the best rank, which I'm assuming newgrounds admin is the best one.

Audio - Decent audio. There was good background music and the sound effects that you get when you get a question right or wrong was a nice addition. I always think that quizzes should use some sort of sound effects like that.

Overall - Some questions were good, some questions were hard, but some just seemed almost impossible to know unless you could do some research. I also didn't use the passwords or the pause button. :P

MarioFlashMovies responds:

Okay, so here's my respond:
First of all, thanks for review my Flash :)

Animation/Graphics - I with you.

Story/Content - I know most of you get admisitor, because it has a really big rang, and yes, I didn't wrote the questions, so please don't ask me :)

Audio - Thanks :)

Overall - About the questions - I know, even I when I programed it didn't knew by my self. About the password/pause: Nice dude :)

Better.

Animation/Graphics - The animation itself was much smoother than your past submissions. I think they still need a little bit of work, but it's almost in par too be good enough for what I would consider good animation skills. I think your almost there. Things like blood and everything were a lot better than I remember in your other animations. I still think the bullet speed could have been a little bit faster. When I think of someone shooting a bullet I'm thinking of something that is nearly impossible to dodge. I think the text and buttons could be drawn and straightened out just a little bit neater then they were just to give it more of a professional look. I also think instead of having all of that text in the first scene of your flash that you should make a menu for the flash which tells us what to do so it's just not so cluttered.

Story/Content - Wait... haha where did that knife come from? That was kind of odd in my opinion. The choices that you could choose from weren't that bad, but they weren't really the best. The only one that you really have to think about at all is whether or not to choose the knife or the gun. I thought the first one was a simple choice just because where the enemies had their guns pointed and just where everything was going to land when I drew it up in my mind. The other choices were rather simple though. I mean you weren't going to let him live and you weren't going to give up really. I chose the wrong ones on purpose the 2nd time I played through it just to check out the rewind button and to see the outcome for every event. The part at the end was rather weird in my opinion too. The part where he slid from one end of the room to the other. Why did he just slide like that? I think you should have finished the animation out with actually having to kill the zombies. It almost takes away from the flash when you have to play through it all and then when you get to that part and it's just a little story and you don't get to see it.

Audio - I know you said not to comment on the audio in the review request club, but I still have to give it a full review so I have to comment on the audio also. The music was ok, but it was rather loud for some reason. I know I could just turn my volume down, but it goes with my next part of the review. You need sound effects of bullets and everything. I think instead of putting text up there that says slow motion that you need to take that completely out and just put sound effects that would make it seem like slow motion. Things like warping noises or something that messes with the air. Anything to that effects. That being said, with as loud as your audio was it might drown out these sound effects that I think you need to include. So you could turn down the audio so it seems more ambient and you could add some other sounds.

Overall - I think your animation is getting much better, but it just has a tad bit more to go. The story was ok, but the choices were kind of obvious. Perhaps get rid of this by adding more than two choices for each part? This may make it a little bit harder for people to figure things out. Sound effects are a must on a Madness submission and the music should be more ambient in my opinion.

Murad136 responds:

Corky. I'll be honest. Your review was the only one that I wanted :) Seriously.

Just before I comment on anything I made this 2 WHOLE MONTHS AGO! I've had a lot of practice since for our flash ;) I just never got to submitting it. And the reason it ended so weirdly was because I did it before but my sister accidentally closed it without saving so I couldn't be bothered to do it ALL over again. Heheh, if you look carefully the clown gives you the knife with a white blast as he wants to fight you. It's really fun making up a story and making a game to it :) I've made a platformer with a storyline but I have this one actionscript problem that's pissing me off, but I'll handle it when I've got the time. Thanks for the amazing review, your right, I should have actually made the choices hard, I thought I would do them if people were interested in seeing extra-animation. Thanks so much for the review again!

Like your Clock Day one.

Animation/Graphics - This is pretty much just like your clock day flash in terms of animation, but there wasn't as many targets going down. I think it should have been programmed to have the targets break apart when you shoot them. That's pretty much the only thing you could do animation wise to make this any better.

Story/Content - There should have been a time limit where you needed to get a certain amount of points to get to the next level. You could even then take it as far as giving upgrades in between levels and making targets harder to break throughout the game. Perhaps adding different colored targets, which are worth different amount of points and even some targets that if you shoot you lose points.

Audio - Decent sound effects and music all around. If you animated it so they broke you could add some sound effects of the targets breaking. And if you had a win or lose situation in the game you could have a rewarding sound or a buzzard sound to represent losing.

Overall - A good start, but needs things like levels.
