Wow..

I didn't really like this one. I don't know if it was my computer or if it was the flash.. but wow..

Animation/Graphics - Not bad. You had a lot of animation and everything. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with this flash animation or graphic wise.

Story/Content - Again, not that bad at all. You had a lot of interactivity and other things like that. A good story and a good story line overall with all of the flashes. It's a great series from someone to watch and enjoy. I like that there is a little bit more action in this submission than your other ones.

Audio - Ouch... I don't know if this was my computer or not, but the audio made this submission pretty bad. Sometimes it would play when it shouldn't and sometimes it wouldn't play at all. I heard "Help me Joseph" about 3 or 4 times randomly and the same with other audio. Sometimes the audio played well ahead of when it was suppose to or well behind where it was suppose to. Sometimes it never even played. That really hurt this submission in terms of my enjoyment.

Overall - Sorry if that audio mix up was just my computer, but if it wasn't then it's something that should be fixed up because I didn't enjoy it very much. Even though I guess you won't be fixing it since you made this back in 2003.

Yeah this was a tough one for me and X, but it seemed to be ok in the end, Sorry for the issues.

Not bad my friend.

Animation/Graphics - You can basically read my other reviews. The drawings need to be worked on just a little bit. There are a couple of other things that I noticed in this submission though. Such as the blinking of the main character. He blinks in the same rhythm during the entire submission. It just gives it the feel that it was an automatic thing and just takes away from the movie a little bit. I know that's really picky, but sometimes to find something wrong with a submission you have to be picky. =P Also, another example would be at the circus in the crowd. The ghosts weren't drawn that good. The color of their shirts ran into the color in their face, etc..

Story/Content - Probably the best one of them all. You had a shitload of interactivity here and you even made it a little challenging by adding in those riddles and everything. You should really try to fix that tab cheat, which I was willing to try out, but only did try it out after I found out the answers for myself. Of course the tab cheat is when you have a selection of answers and you push the tab button to highlight the correct one.

Audio - The voice acting was alright again, but could be improved on. I thought everything else was alright. Not much more to say about the audio really.

Overall - A good series that I am enjoying. I have a couple more to go before I can go to bed tonight so hopefully they keep on being great submissions like they have been.

Thanks for the review.

Nice game you have here.

Nice visual as a loading bar here. It's nice when flash creators get away from the generic Newgrounds loading bar or the other generic loading bars that many use.

Menu - You had a nice background for the main menu. Nice audio selection too, but perhaps you could have picked something that was just a tad bit longer so it wasn't so repetitive, but at the same time making it not make the file size too big.

Credits -Again, nice use of visuals here instead of having the plain old credits going up the screen. Perhaps you could have had several different movie scenes along the sides next to the scrolling credits to add some more visuals. Again, decent selection for audio here, but it ends before the credits stop. Anyway, you are welcome. I did read all of the credits.

Options - Another decent selection of audio, but again perhaps just a bit too repetitive. I understand it's hard to find the happy medium between size and repetitive small file. I like that you could change it in between Easy, Normal, and Hard. This allows people to make it challenging if they so choose so. Also, it's a good idea that you had a selection of music so if someone had a different music preference here. I really like the choice to turn the snow and smoke effect on and off for people who may have slower computers. Good thinking.

Bad Guys and Bonuses - Great. Now I know what I'm in for and you did a good job explaining the point system and the point behind the game.

Instructions and Help - Again, a nice explanation of the controls and the controls are pretty simple, which is something that is very important for a game such as this.

Playing the game - I played the first selection first. Good job on giving some background before and some simple animations to add to the flash. I then tried the second game choice you had there. I didn't enjoy this game play as much because the screen was freezing up on me even though I selected the snow and smoke off. I also got a weird glitch when playing this one where soldiers would end up being stuck on the back and front of the screen and they would just stay there never going away or me never catching up. It did this sometimes with mines and barrels too.

Overall a pretty fun game to play and since you only had one flash I decided to give it a real long review. :D Ha, it was fun playing it and if you every make a new flash let me know and I will review it.

Not bad.

Comments before actual review - It's about time that I get back and review some of the Flash Portal History.

Animation/Graphics - Not the best, but they aren't terrible. The animation itself is kind of rough and not all of the drawings are the best. It just feels like it could have been animated much better and drawn much better.

Story/Content - Not a bad idea for a flash. Pretty original idea. I loved how you made it a bit interactive in the movie so we could choose what we wanted to do. I hope there is more of that in the future episodes.

Audio - Not the best voice acting. The voices weren't bad, but the quality of them were bad so to say. Back ground music and other sound effects again were alright, but not of the best quality.

Overall - A decent flash, which may lack some quality, but is still pretty good at the same time.

Yeah this was more of a test at our first real movie/game, X doesnt like talking much but he came around hehe, anyways thanks for the review.

Oh boy.

I'm surprised you didn't upset a bunch of kids wanting to get porn in this episode. I guess it wasn't as funny the third time around. The first one was the funniest, the second one had some humor, but the third might have just been too much. I guess it's good that you didn't continue this though because I don't think that I would have enjoyed anymore after this. Anyway, what you really need on these flashes in some sort of ending. Whether it just be a replay button a screen that says the end. That's the really only thing that I can think of improving on this other than the animation, plot, humor, graphics, audio, etc..

Lol, too hard.

Some people are complaining that this game is too hard. >.< Lmao. That was really funny man. In the beginning of the flash, I know you were going for the over exaggerated, annoying, long voice, but I think you did it pass the point where it was annoying or funny. You did it to the point where it was like yeah alright, this is really boring me.. Let's get on to the next thing. .. A couple of scenes where you could have shortened some stuff up to make it smoother and you never really finished it. D: It just kind of ended with the picture of the giraffe shopping. :/ I thought my computer froze for a second or something.

Not too bad, needs improvement.

Ha, this did make me laugh during some parts. It wasn't all that bad actually. Maybe a few more levels and extra minigames would have made it better. You did a pretty decent job in hiding the first one, which I actually thought was the hardest one of them all for some reason. I guess it had something to do with the blinking light that kept drawing me to that area. Of course I'm sure that's exactly what you wanted that light to do. Good job there. I should have thought it out before I just assumed that was the place for it.

The second place, which was hidden in the corner, was predictable. I hit it with my first click and didn't even think about looking anywhere else for it. The last one was also very easy to find. I guess you should have added more obstacles to it to make it harder because I was only slowed down by the first one and it was less than a minute before I figured it out.

Overall, not too bad. Needs to be much longer, which won't hurt the file size as long as you compress your flash a little bit. Especially the audio is in need for some compressing. Keep up the hard work.

Like you said..

This is only good for people who know what you are talking about. I guess you are terrible at explaining to people who have never touched actionscript or done anything with flash before as you have now proved not only to me last night on AIM when you couldn't tell me what a simple code would look like and on this flash where you really don't explain where and how. You just through a code out there and expect people to understand it. Yet does say advanced when you play it so it is for people who already know what they are talking about. This means I can't take points off because I don't understand the things in it yet. Anyway, if somebody already knew what they were doing with actionscript wouldn't they be able to do this by themselves anyway? Either way, nice set up and animated background. Buttons were easy to click and you had a nice piece of audio playing in the background.

ZiggyZack99 responds:

On AIM, I had no idea what code you needed help with.

Tutorials get big reviews.

Well another one of these. I think this is a good place to end the night reviewing. I reviewed a shitload of your stuff again today.

The BBS - You know I would have fucking loved to see one of these flashes when I first joined Newgrounds. I had no clue what the forums were and the only time that I spent on Newgrounds was watching and reviewing movies/games. If I would have saw one of these flashes than perhaps I would have well over 10,000 posts by now. D:

General - The most popular? Yeah I guess you are right for the most part. I of course don't like the general as much because it's full of a lot of idiots. I like to stay in other forums. You might want to update this or maybe not..., but they don't talk about video games there anymore. :D

Where Is/How To Forums - By far my favorite forum there is. I'm all about the stats like you already know and this place has all of the lists for the top members statistically. I still say I'm going to be the first audio reviewer to 10,000 reviews. >:] Alright, probably not, but I'm going to be up there somewhere.

Flash Forum - A lot of this stuff is a little outdated now isn't it? I think it's 3.5 BA, but perhaps I'm wrong. It's not your fault though that the flash is older. I use to visit the flash forums more frequently. As soon as I get a computer that has a working mic. I will probably visit it more often looking for flash artists who need voice actors and/or writers.

Politics - Meh, it's kind of boring there in my opinion. I haven't really seen a good debate there... ever :(

Programming Forums - Happens to be the only forum that I haven't ever posted in. I've also made a topic in all of the forums except for this one and the flash forum.

Clubs and Crews Forums - This is the forum that I remember looking at a little before any other forum and I didn't like it because the threads were too long. It's now a great place. Even though my once alive ghost club is dead. :( No pun intended.

Audio Forums - A nice place for voice actors to go to would be a nice thing to add here.

Art - I got my first topic delete here for posting a photoshopped picture. D: Perhaps mention something like the pictures can be bigger here?

NG News - lul, plain and simple.

Network News - Why do we even have this? One topic is there and it's completely dead. It needs to be used more often or gotten rid of.

P-Bot's Postings - Hmm have you ever noticed that a lot of nubs post here for the first time? It's like there way to ease into the forums.

Trolls and Flamers - You gave the best advice possible here. Just completely ignore them.
Mods - Lol they don't always keep things fun.. not some of them at least.. Anyway also lol at this list being outdated too.

Bans - The only thing I can think of is give more examples or perhaps a link to the forum rules here?

Wrapping it up - That's what she said. =P I think the biggest thing about this flash is that it needs a link to the rules. Something that isn't read very often by new users.

Sispri responds:

Thank you soooo much for this review omgomgomg!!! I am going to individually respond to all your reviews now.

For starters, yeah the character was shaky and the gameplay laggy. But you gotta cut me some slack on the scripting of the .clipEvents. The music WAS indeed superior and Andrew W.K. is without doubt awesome. But I digress as this was a mere BETA test. In the future I hope to release even more unique stuff like this. Perhaps this time with a lovable character such as a talking pumpkin.

I really hope this game gets sponsored. I could really use some money for gas. Otherwise I'll have to get a job and there goes my right-side creativity. Baw well.
Thanks again though. I will continue to improve with my journey in the wonderful world of Flash.

Nice submission = long review.

I loved this submission man. This was probably one of your better submissions. I really liked the Tank animation in the background and the fact that the background was moving. It helped get rid of the boring repetitive backgrounds. You had a lot of sections so I'm going to review each section.

How to write a review - I loved that you pointed out to people to actually right a review by telling them what was good, what was bad, and telling them how and what they could improve on instead of using the generic youtube comment of "it was good". You added a nice section of things that they should review when reviewing a submission. I usually review plot, graphics, concept, style of animation, audio, and story. Something that I really don't review is effort, but I do put it in consideration when choosing my score.

What not to do - Lol, the picture wasn't of the best quality, but the example review that you gave was pretty funny. Good job on warning them that a ban would be coming in the case of a review like this. I like the fact that you put in that you are allowed to say that a submission was gay or dumb, but it isn't abusive as long as you give them constructive criticism. I think this is something a lot of people need to learn.

Telling the difference between an abusive review and a non-abusive review - Hm, as the review you showed wasn't the most helpful, it wasn't anywhere near being abusive. I like how you had the choice of clicking the picture to make it bigger. The second review was obviously abusive. =P

Why was the second one abusive? - Again, this is information that a lot of people on Newgrounds don't understand. They think just because they helped out a little that the review isn't abusive.

How to get the Deity Whistle - A nice addition to the flash. I thought it was going to be about how you should write reviews, but you covered a lot in this.

Further help on reviews - Lol, ask you? Didn't you come to me a lot for help in the review system? Nice that you added some mod names, but you should have added more.
