Hm..

Again, for some reason I can't really see this being related to a madness movie in the beginning of the song. I think it does pick up like it needs to though after about 30 seconds or so and then it could be used with a madness genre movie. I guess I'm just so used to hearing the generic madness songs that I don't think this will work. That could be the whole thing though. If I actually heard this on the animation then it may be pretty cool. I could see this being on a game/movie that is a madness/final fantasy mix or something similar. I did enjoy this more then your other submission though.

Thanks. I'm not really trying to recreate the typical madness sound, but definitely trying to go for something that could wirk in a madness animation providing that the tone of the animation is right.

As I've mentioned, I'll try to reupload this to fit the madness style better, but I might upload the original one as well, just because I like it as it is.

Well I couldn't believe one thing.

I couldn't believe that this submission had a score under 4, but I can happily say that my vote put it back above 4. It deserves to have score above 4. The entire song was pretty much amazing if I can say so myself. The lyrics were not only great in my opinion, but very clear and easy to understand. I also enjoy it when the author puts the lyrics in their author comments like you have here just in case someone doesn't completely understand what is being said. Again, great job on this and it deserves a little more in the score area in my opinion.

Hmm..

I'm sorry, but my review is basically going to state what other people have said. The whole thing sounds way too jumbled. The first 2 seconds were so weren't too bad, but after that there just seemed to be too much going on at once to really enjoy the submission. Also, the background music just didn't seem to match with the louder music that was there.

the style of music wich is a form of techno I made it to do is soposed to be kindof jumbled. the bassline and lots of backup lines.:)

Um, here have I heard this before ;)

OHHH yeah, this use to be Corky52's Theme Song. :) I think you should give a little credit to me and mention the title of SonOfKirks song in there. I really like the addition of lyrics to my theme song. You really hit it in my opinion. I have to say by far my favorite part of your vocals was when it started with, "Bring me your fears and..." The vocals were amazing in that part of the song. I was hoping he added another solo towards the end of the song because it just seems to go on for a bit too long. Maybe some sort of vocals could of went there too just to make it seem not so empty. That could be fixed in several ways though. More vocals, shorter song, additional solo, or just make the origninal solo longer itself. But I have to say that I did enjoy listening to this very much. If I ever need to use a heavy metal song for anything this will be the first thing that I look to use. Great job.

Side note - I recommended this to the review request club and in your author comments you just have a small typo. The first time you say, "Sleep in my tomb" and the second time you exchange my for your even though in the song it still says my. A small error, nothing too big.

Thanks a lot, for the support man. I appreciate that a lot. I was thinking of redoing just the first three bar verse to the clean singing, then leave the faster verses alone. I would dig your thoughts on that. I'm probably gonna re do these vocals one or two more times anyways, just to get it perfect as possible.

Thanks for pointin out the typo. I'll fix that in the final final final version haha.
Very happy you dig the song, dude.

Hmm.

Well I can say that I don't exactly think this would fit with Madness for some reason. Even if it is suppose to be a song that is suppose to go along with Hank's death. It did get very repetitive and that didn't make it too much fun to listen to, but that is probably due to it being over 5 minutes long. Even though it's suppose to be a sad song about a death I think there needs to be just a little bit more.. how do I say it? Energy? Even as weird as that may sound. Just something a little heavier added to it itself. Hell, I don't know anything about music though. >.< The last note at the end was a nice little addition. Just as soon as you think the song was going to end the last note finished it off.

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah, variation and direction, I found it difficult to go somewhere with this track. I think that if I can get a good composition with this style and mood, I think it'd turn out quite good. Despite the lack of variation, I believe that the quality of sound is quite good for a few soundfonts. The ending was just a little sudden thing I wanted to add so that it has a sense of finality.
Thanks for the review.

Smooth

Alright, it seems to change tempo and beats alot. It's sort of a mix of alot different genres, when you get down to it.

To me, it sounds like a journey, a long journey, perhaps taken by a lonely soul. the ending was good, not too abrupt, but satisfying and gave closure.

A solid tune.

Hmmm I'm pretty sure the tempo was constant, yeah it is sort of a blend though.

Thanks :D

More techno than trance, imo.

Well, it was a nice techno trance tune. It has a very dynamic change in tempo at some places. I especially like the dramatic pause around 2:20 or so. Anyways, there's not much you can add to this, because it was well made for the most part. Good music here.

Sp1r1T responds:

Nah, Its Trance :P Look for Hands-Up or Hardstyle under Trance.

Thanks :)

And err. It never changed tempo... :P

Hmm

I liked the piano piece in the beginning. The drum parts seemed to accompany well. Maybe add a little more to it, yeah. The fading out in the end, and the crescendo in the beginning almost made it like a loop. It was a well made remix, however I'm not too familiar with the MK theme. But it could be a little longer.

Assios responds:

Thanks. I think I'll make it longer someday.

Remarkable

Quite the outstanding work you have here. It was a nice ambient song, very calming and peaceful. Verging on a melancholy feel. I like when you finally added in the drum lines at 3:19. It completely changed tempo and feel, yet still kept it atmospheric expressions.

While listening to this, I imagined standing in the wide open plains, gazing at the stars above, and looking into the endless night.

Overall, you did a brilliant job!

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks! I feel like I accomplished a better sound with the classical instruments than I have done in the past, so I'd love to capitalise on that and try some new, dynamic classical pieces in the future. Cheers for the review.

Damn..

I was hoping for more out of it I guess. The beginning was quiet, but it went along fine with the build up feeling that you got out of the song while listening. I guess I was just expecting the song to get intense and really pick up right after the quiet after the first fade. I really think that would of made this song great, but oh well. Not too bad.
