Great job.

I can't really think of too much to criticize in a review for this submission. The only thing that I could think of was that perhaps the mic didn't pick the sound up the best as the quality sounded a bit muffled every now and then.

Other than that everything about the submission was awesome. The sound, length, beat, etc... Great job on this and I'm starting to enjoy your songs. Make sure to keep requesting in the RRC.

Ok! Ill request as much as i can without breaking your rules :)

Not bad.

It really does remind me of the FFX battle scenes. (Damn now I want to play that again :( Man what a good game)

You did a great job playing this and you do a pretty good job on creating that video game type feeling. Great length in the submission and good all around. I really can't think of anything wrong with it at all.

Good recreation!

Thanks! I have been looking for my copy of FFX for a week now andjust found out my brother lent it to a friend :(

Has a video game type feeling.

I got a good video game type feel out of this song. The games that it reminded me of where Final Fantasy and Legend of Dragoon. (Two games that I play throughout the week at anytime :p)

Other than the good video game feeling I got out of it though I noticed how repetitive it was. It was so repetitive that while I let it play and I lurked the BBS I thought the song had played over quite a few times, but it was still the same thing playing over and over.

I guess that's how the songs do sound in Final Fantasy though. Perhaps a little bit of variety would improve the song, but I do think it would sound great in an RPG as the ambient background. Probably during a creepy level or something like that as it does have a decent scary feeling to it.

Yeah this is from Final Fantasy 10. it is when you are about to fight seymour. :)

Ha awesome.

It really does sound like Insanity. Not exactly what my insanity would sound like, but everyone would here it in their own way. Mine would be much heavier then this personally, even though yours was a little heavy.

I got a decent laugh out of your dial up comment in your author comments because I still have dial up at home and I know how that sound is. >.<

So great interpretation of what insanity sounds like. You should try and make a heavy metal one sometime.

I could make it br00talz as hell. Meshuggah br00talz. I am working on a sort of far out metal song but its more trippy fusion metal and not batshit insane metal kind of stuff. ( has some of that batshit crazy buckethead tapping type action going on though )

Also its not a serious attempt at a interpretation of insanity, it was just a cool title because it sounded crazy in the head.

Not too bad.

A nice little upbeat submission. It gets a little repetitive at first, but you changed it up by cutting out one of the noises around 26 seconds. The only problem with it was that it seemed to end abruptly right there. Making that transition a little bit smoother with something like a fade out might help a little.

The song itself is kind of short and really doesn't loop to well. It has a distinct ending and there is a nice pause between the start/finish time. If you want it to be a loop perhaps make it a little bit of a smoother transition from the beginning to end and cut down on the time in between.

You had a couple of interesting pieces of noise and beats in this, but it really wasn't anything too interesting or original. There is almost a video game type feeling with parts of the song.

:) thanks for the review. :)

Nice tune.

I personally got a little bored listening to this as it really seemed empty. Perhaps something like your own vocals or just some remixed vocals would have sounded pretty good here.

For the most part though it's a very relaxing and soothing song to listen to. It has a nice build up effect throughout the song. Not too much to improve on except for in my opinion it sounded empty. Nice remix all around.

Mad-Muppet responds:

Thanks, yeah it might be a bit empty, though I like minimalism ^^ I can't sing at all, so that's a no-no. But sweet review anyhow :D

Has an epic feeling to it

This has a great epic feeling to it. Something that you might expect to see during a cut scene in a video game or during the introduction of a video game where there is the aftermath of a bloodied battle field. At least that is what I can envision when I listen to this.

That being said, probably a pretty useful song for a flash submission. Like said before it could be used for an introduction, cut scene, or some ambient music. Probably would go better with a game type flash, but wouldn't be bad with a movie either.

The song itself could of been a tad bit longer, but it was pretty good right around where it was. It had an epic sound to it and really lets the imagination go to work if you try and envision something while listening to it. Good job on this submission.

Awesome

I really enjoyed this piece. It's very heavy for an industrial song. I loved the way the song itself started off with the heavy scream. I wouldn't mind hearing something like this in just heavy metal itself. Actually if you make some heavy stuff I might check it out sometime.

In my opinion it has a very original sound to it. I loved the way the chopped up voices sounded. The only complaint that I have is that it could be a little bit longer. Perhaps somewhere around 2:00 minutes long would have been better. Adding some more vocals along with some additional length would be a must.

As for a flash I think this could be used in anything that was in need of a song for a robotic scene, because for some reason this song makes me think of machines or robots.

nihilisticeq responds:

Well, most of my stuff is just (relatively) normal metal, this was sort of an experimental thing for me. Thanks for the review.

Ha, kind of made me laugh.

It was just so predictable, but yet for some reason I found humor in it. So how exactly was this created? You just took sounds from Microsoft Windows or did you mix in some other things from a song creating program or something else like that?

Other than the laugh that I got from you being so literate with your name and description I guess it could be useful for a small section of a flash or something where an alarm was needed. I could see the volume being turned down a little bit and having this be used in a scene where the alarm was going off in a building in the distance or something like that. That's just me though. I'm always trying to find ways audio can be used in flash.

100% windows sounds

Hmmm

It does start off pretty decently. All the way up to 10 seconds even though it did sound like it skipped a little bit somewhere around 6 seconds. Around 10 seconds though the noise just really sound out of place.

I did though like the noise that you introduced around 14 seconds. I think you might be able to completely get rid of the noise that came in around 10 seconds and work with the noise that you had at 14. It gave it a sort of spooky feel.

Other than that work on the length a little bit and you have something that may sound pretty decent here.
