Not too bad at all.

I really see something like this being used in an old RPG style game. Just one of those cheesy ones with a terribly generic story line on an old system that you couldn't quite save for yet. :P

Has a very video game type feel to it. Sounds to me like it would make very good background for music. I didn't exactly like how long you had the noise going on in the end. I think it lasted a little bit too long and sounded drawn out. Other than that not bad at all.

it would be awesome to see this used in something, even if it were cheesy and terribly generic. I held the last note at the end for that long because if you listen closely, another sound starts to fade in a bit, and I couldn't figure out how to get it to do that without holding it for so long. thank you for the review.

Odd

I should really watch the flash to see how the sound effects worked in the movie, but meh lol. So I'm assuming they worked well for the movie. Is that your voice for all of these effects? If so you might be a pretty decent voice actor. Perhaps you should look into it a bit more.

I'm assuming the noises were spread out because that's the way they were timed in the flash? If not you should put them closer together or perhaps submit them individually as different sound effects so someone doesn't have to listen through the whole thing and maybe even have the chance to use them in flash submissions of their own.

Good all around though.

SilentCobra responds:

Heh, that's not my voice. Also, I can do voice acting if I want to. This was all just sound effects I downloaded from Adobe Soundbooth and made into one track. That and Haloguy234 is still working on his flash. He just PMed me out of the clear blue sky and asked for my help. I don't really know how he's going to use this in the flash, I just thought that if the sounds were spread out, it would sound better. You know in horror/action games if there are scary sounds around, they are almost always spaced apart to create ambiance.

Woah, pretty cool!

It seemed to change up so much and have so much variety throughout the entire thing! Very original sound to it and a great song all around. Sounds great without vocals or lyrics.

Has a lot of Heavy Metal to it, but seems like you can hear a lot of other genres in it to. I really like the classical sound it has. I always thought that classical went well with heavy metal.

Overall - A very good piece of audio. I'm happy that the first piece of audio that I've reviewed in forever was a good one. Keep up the good work!

LightKeeper responds:

Thanks man. Yeah, I try to spread the genres that I can use within a song, though the main influence was metal here and epic classical music. I'm still planing to go back on this one though because the sound is a little thin if you get what I mean. Thanks for the review though. :)

Ha!

I don't know much about voice acting, but this was really funny! Good voices, probably voices I would like to hear in flash submissions here on newgrounds.

I laughed every time it talked about how cheesy it was because it was like this audio submission. So cheesy! Ha, that's a good thing though because you pulled it off to the point where it was funny.

The making love to the pizza line was priceless. Very funny!

So overall very funny and really worth listening to.

Really glad you enjoyed! Thanks for reviewing.

Cool!

I'm going to add this to my favorites and download it. You don't mind if I use it in future flash animations do you? I think it's very fitting for a flash game/and or movie. More towards the game side of of flash, but perhaps a sprite or game related movie also.

The song overall was very catchy and fast paced. I had a lot of fun listening to it and you did a great job on it. I think the only thing that could be worked on a little is the ending. It just kind of seemed to end suddenly or abruptly and I think it would sound much better if it ended smoothly. It almost seems to loop, but not quite. Perhaps that's just the way newgrounds gives a split second in between though. It seems like something that could easily be edited down a little.

LightKeeper responds:

It's actually designed to be a loop. At about 1:26 it does it's first loop around, if you listen to the end it's exactly the same. I lengthened the loop out to properly show how it should loop because I know of the Newgrounds tendency of adding that micro nano second that just screws with loops.

As far as using this is a flash, I wouldn't mind. It was made for a game, but there's nothing restricting it from use in other media. I'm 100% fine with its usage in an animation and actually encourage it. Hey, think about it: Double exposure - My music in flash gets me known, and you using it in a flash gets that animation noticed by all the people who come to view the music.

Thanks for the review Corky52. Glad I was able to give you a fun and fast paced experience! :D

Awesome!

This brings back some good memories of the Ghostbuster movies! I actually wouldn't mind going back and watching those again now.

The beginning starts off rather well and it has a very catchy beet throughout the entire song. I almost actually danced to this song a little bit in my chair. :P I did notice that sometimes after the halfway marker in the song it didn't seem to run together too smoothly. It almost sounded like everything stopped for a split second and started back up again, which gave it a sound of being glitched or skipping. (For example between 1:35 and 1:36 sounds like it needs to be cleaned up and several times after it)

Other than that noise I thought it was a very good song. I'm going to add it to my favorites.

Not bad at all.

Overall a really good song and fun to listen too. Never really gets too repetitive or anything like that. Good variety of sound effects and noises used throughout the entire song.

The voices or grunts that you used about half way through the song felt very random to me, but I did like them. I think you should have implemented them into the song a little more often, but at the same time try not to add them too many more times so it's too repetitive.

ThunderHorseL responds:

Thanks a lot for the review!

Yeah, the sound clip is from Egoraptor's "Gears of Awesome"

I just threw it in there to see if anyone would actually catch the reference.

Ha good laugh.

I can see the beginning where the kid seems very timid while playing, but sticks in there for a little longer just to hit a few more wrong notes. That's of course when he can't handle it anymore and just slams the keyboard.

I think this would go pretty good in this scenario of a flash. "Kid is playing piano, makes a few mistakes, but keeps on playing. Then makes a few more mistakes, gets pissed off, and slams the keys on the keyboard. Heavy metal music starts to play and he starts screaming along with the music."

Nothing too complicated in the script, but this song could be useful for something like that. The song itself that you made was so simple, but yet funny to a point. Not too bad at all for the purpose that you made it. Hopefully someone uses it some day.

Um memories?

I have no clue what you mean about memories here in this submission. Want to know why? Because some people still currently used dial up. ;)

That's right. The great Corky52 runs off of dial up still. Yes it's quite annoying, but you have to work with what you have. Those noises are terrible too. It didn't matter if the volume on your computer was turned all the way down, whether you have it muted, etc.. They didn't come from the speakers. I have grown to hate those sounds and didn't enjoy them too much more in this song.

In my opinion not really an original idea since I think I've reviewed about 10 of these on this website. I would admit that yours was probably done the best though. Not too bad, but nothing too great. I did like the way you incorporated the sound effects and made them flow smoothly. Keep on working and sorry it took me so long to review, but with dial up I shouldn't have to explain why. ;)

10 others like this? really? I thought I was being unique and original. I find it surprising people still use Dial-up. Thank you for your great review!
