The voices were of good quality obviously because they weren't made by you. :P Good mixture though. Good job making some beats that would go good with the voices at hand. I really don't know what the original song sounds like because it's not music that I would listen to, but this version is very catchy and upbeat all around. The music sounds like something that you could dance to probably.

Good thing is that it sounds like the music would be quite good without the voices at hand, but the voices add to the submission and make it even better. Good piece all around.

Nice job all around. You did good at giving the simple beat in the introduction. It almost made me feel like, oh no it's going to be some lame loop of the same thing over and over, but the build up effect that you used of making it more intense made me realize what you were doing. Very nice job on having it pick up and get faster as it goes.

Quote was well placed and times and the song really takes off after that. I guess my only complaint about the song was that it just ends and it almost left me with the feeling that it shouldn't have ended yet. Or at least not ended the way that it did. Don't exactly know a better way of ending it, but I was personally left with that feeling at the end of the song.

A very nice ambient piece. Good introduction that can be used in anything that has a rising action and then it calms down a bit and sounds like something that you could hear in the background of something. Gets a little repetitive, but then the change up at the end made up for it.

Good strategy with the ending though. I sometimes take that strategy when writing things or making movies. Sometimes I shoot or write the ending before I even know what/how to start the beginning. Also, because of the pause at the end you get the false impression that the song is over and then all of a sudden it picks up again. Very cool effect in my opinion.

Seems like the ending could be used in a movie like that as well. Stuff is happening in the movie and you think it's all over, but all of the sudden the last breathe of the fallen character causes him to rise up and there is continued hope.

LightKeeper responds:

Thanks a lot for the review man. I was afraid that this might be a little bit too repetitive for some, but I did a lot of listening to ambient tracks and trip-hop tracks before I decided to make a go at it and repetition just seems key in that genre.

And the strategy wasn't actually intentional. I just couldn't think of how to use that ending piece and I liked how it sounded so I went backward from there.

Thanks for the review and all the insight though. :)

So this isn't suppose to be sad and you were simply naming it because of the lyrics? That's a relief because when listening to this song it isn't really sad in anyway. It's not really a happy song, but definitely not a sad song by any means.

Oh the computer rendered voices that sound like the old Bahamut flashes. You might not know him, but he used the voices all the time and I've almost watched all 99 of his submissions so it was a nice blast from the past to me.

The voices, while giving a slight bit of humor to the submission for about 5 seconds, probably weren't the best thing to use and a real human voice would probably be better. (The humor that it gave was the omg it sounds so bad so I'm going to laugh at it instead of the yeah this is really funny sounding vocals that you should aim for) The beginning might be a bit abrupt as it caught me off guard and I had to turn my volume down.

Scrototype responds:

It's supposed to be "omg it sounds so bad so I'm going to laugh at it" funny. If I had a human child sing this it just wouldn't work, and it'd be fucked up.

I found this song very calm and relaxing. Not something that I really like, but it sounds like something someone could listen to after a long and drawn out day of work so they could finally relax and/or fall asleep to this.

It also sounds like something that would go good at the end of a movie/game that has one of those sad, but at the same time happy endings as you can almost get that feeling out of this submission. The kind of sad you get when you're sad that you finally have to end something so fun.

Will responds:

Thank you for responding...I hope it didn't make you TOO sad!

Wow, I think it was really said best with a combination of the last review and your response to that review. If there's something that needs a big repair, it isn't this song, but if you found that something, this song would help.

I do like this song a lot. The glitch effects were awesome and really made this song fun to listen to. Good variety throughout the song as a whole and a very interesting/original sound to it also. Not much to critique in my opinion.

The overall feel that I got from the submission was that you may have let things get a bit repetitive by allowing the same thing to happen over and over for a bit to long, but the song itself isn't repetitive as it changes up many times.

I mean more as the same sounds are happening for a tad too long in the song before you change it up. Probably taking 10 seconds off of the submission in a whole could help this a little bit, but it still wasn't terrible. I just knew that when I listened to it I was on the verge of saying "This is too repetitive in this part" a couple of times, but shortly after the thought entered my head the song seemed to change up a bit.

I do like the part around 3:25 give or take a few seconds. I thought that was the best part in the song. I also think that you set it up to be better with vocals, but it's alright without them as well.

Sawdust responds:

Why are all my songs repetitive? Oh well, it's fine, i'll make adjustments then.

Thanks.

I think the beginning reminded me of an old style RPG. Something you would hear during a menu or in one of the various towns or houses. I like how it goes right to this fast beat fun song right away though. I really wasn't expecting it and it was just a cool effect as it wasn't predictable in any way.

The song itself is pretty cool. Fun all around to listen to and could probably be useful in a lot of flashes. Probably more of a video game type of flash that has something start off peaceful, but after a little bit something happens that causes some distress or action.

The instruments themselves would get a tad bit repetitive if it wasn't for those vocals in there every now and then. I think you've used the right amount of vocals without over using them or under using them. The quote that you used in the beginning was a great way to start a song.

The quote that you used in the song a couple times itself was a little repetitive though. I thought if you would have brought in some different quotes it would have been better all around. I do think you could have used it the first time and then came back to it at the end of the song, but like I said the amount that you used the same thing over and over got a little predictable.
