Simple game, but doesn't actual rely on skill whatsoever. Doesn't matter if you play perfectly or if your reaction time is perfect, you are put in situations where it is impossible to not lose life points and almost always at the rate faster than you can collect enough for the medal.

I know if I played through a few more times I'd be able to reach the 100 point mark, but it feels silly playing a game that you lose based off of nothing except luck.

A large portion of the time the game won't even load. (chrome) You click the play button and it refreshes back out and you have to click all over again. This could happen 10-20 times before it actually sticks and you get to play the game.

Thanks for playing and rating my game! Im currently working on ways to make the game more balanced (like power ups for example). Im also adding new medals as well. This game was merely a simple little project. But I'm hoping to make this better update after update.

This game really missed for me. I stuck through it, for a solid hour to try and get all of the medals, but ended up not getting the medal for finishing the game even though I bought the final credit for $20,000. That all being said, I'm not here to review the medals, but the game. Sadly the only redeemable value in this game to me was the fact that there were medals. I wouldn't find myself slightly interested in playing this if they weren't there.

Other than being tedious, like most idle games can be, the actual lack of upgrades available and the extremely slow rate of money production just made this game no fun in my opinion. Adding something like food upgrades that make fish produce higher value outcomes, upgrades that increase speeds of things, and other multipliers would immediately make this game more playable.

Small details like having a fish description of their stats and a little information about them would have went a long way. At first I thought the "money fish" was literally stealing money from me. It took a bit to realize that it was collecting the $5 and $15 bills. At least I never witnessed it collecting anything else.

I don't understand how the save feature works? I clicked it about an hour in just in case things didn't work out well, but it doesn't actually do anything? Later when I came back into the game it made me start from the beginning. So what does the save button actually do if you start over from the beginning upon playing the game again? Am I missing a load file section?

Overall, a game that I wanted to enjoy, because I enjoy the genre of this game, but it really was kind of boring and didn't have any replay value.

Ant responds:

To answer some questions you may have, the medals on all Construct 2 games I make tend to time out for some reason and not give the player them after about 30-60 mins of gameplay. Not sure why that happens but I suppose it’s an issue with the Condtruct 2 API for NG.

I plan to soon add a Robotic Fish that drops food for you to make the game a bit less tedious for the player.

I’ve also gone ahead and fixed some of the AI for certain fish to work a bit better.

The save feature should be saving to your browser’s Local Storage, if it is full or if you are in private browsing mode it may not save upon reloading the game.

Hope that can clear some things up for you.

Edit: Fixed some stuff and updated the game a bit if u wanna try it out again!

This has virtually no play value whatsoever. As a quick medal earner, fine, it is what it is, but without the medals I wouldn't have even played this game for more than a few seconds. There was no challenge, no game, just move your mouse around until you find something on your screen. Repeat until you get to 100 for all of the medals, never even think about or play the game ever again.

Some things that I think would immediately make this game better.

1) A time limit. Make this more of a challenge by having a progressively harder timer to find the next hider.

2) A battery life for your flashlight. It might as well have just defaulted on without the click because all you have to do is click once and hold for the rest of the game.

3) A score based off of how quickly you get to the next hider.

The kidray with a penis in his mouth is my favorite part.

Please thanks, help.

Little-Rena responds:

There's no penis in there, but there should be, shouldn't there

This was a lot of fun and I think it'll make a really good game. I love the simplicity of it. I wonder if it would be more fun to have some sort of upgrade system. Something where you can put points into attack, defense, health, and other bonuses.

That being said, who knows because the simplistically of this game makes it fun at the same time. Perhaps adding all of those features wouldn't make it more fun.

I would have never even come close to winning if it wasn't for the space button hint. I got to level 11 and then just couldn't get past it so I gave up. I ended up reading your response to some reviews about the slow motion button being a big help and it easily got me pass level 11 and 12.

I'll never be able to get the 10 minute medal, but I'm sure some of the more extreme gamers would be able to.

Frenchie14 responds:

Glad you liked it! I want to explore upgrade trees in the full game. Like you said, it's going to be tricky to add to the game without losing too much of the simplicity. This is a really cool game with a wonderful concept. It's not too much different than other games of it's kind, but I never played a game quite like it. Loved the quick thinking reflex style and overall smooth control layout. I could see this game being a lot of fun with some sort of score system put in place or achievement system.

Perhaps newgrounds medals and the introduction of items that you can collect to increase overall score on any certain level to give the more extreme gamers something to reach for?

Lylouf responds:

Hi !

Thanks for taking the time to leave this feedback, and for the suggestion, i'll try to integrate medals when i'll find the time to, this seems like a great idea :)

I think the gameplay is extremely smooth and fun to play. It was a joy Beta Testing this for you and trying to "break" a game that I jad little success doing so.

I highly recommend. I can't wait to get those medals.

CitizenGoose responds:

Hey man! Thanks for testing!

It's a super simple game. It plays extremely smoothly and is self explanatory. The thing is it's so repetitive and there's very little to do. It does get harder, but because it's so repetitive I wouldn't say the increase in challenge make it anymore interesting.

I think what we have here is the first part of an actual game. Surviving this level for a certain amount of time should lead to another level. That or the berries should show up randomly on the map.

Maybe there should even be different type of foods or berries worth different points, but to add to the challenge like mentioned before they should show up randomly on the map instead of the same place over and over.

CapsyStudio responds:

Thanks for playing/rating and for the feedback! :)

Those are great ideas, we'll look into the random spot berries if I can upload a v2. The "changing levels" is an interesting idea.

Almost a good game. I think you should revisit this one because it could actually be a great idle game. The set up is super simple, but having so few things being able to be purchased a goal so low gives it little to no pliability. It took me less than 5 minutes to play and it's so linear that you really don't have any choice playing the game. Just click coin, buy cheapest upgrade, repeat, end game in 2-3 minutes.

Here's a random rambling of possible ideas:

1) Give it a menu. I know it's a super simple game and it doesn't take much figuring out on anyone's part. Click the coins to gain 1 or 2 money. If you don't want to click there's an idle amount that you can earn. You don't know that it's an idle earnings because it doesn't say, but it's clear when you see the number start increasing without doing anything. Simple as it may be, an explanation/menu could go a long ways. Which brings me to my next point.

2) When you put your mouse over something have it tell us what it does. Have it say, "Adds 1 coin per second and +5 to idle earnings in a text box when we scroll over the items. That in itself would add so much to this game. It gives the illusion of choice to game players who would then say, "I'll wait to upgrade that one because I like the reward on this one better!" Again, runs into my next point.

3) You have such a large screen. Use it! You could have made this game so much better by adding about 3-5x the amount of upgrades and to increase the goal by a ton. You had such a big screen, but most of it was white! Add a bunch of upgrades and fill that sucker out so it's more visually appealing!

4) Talking about visually appealing, add some animation. Nothing crazy, just simple things like the buttons depressing when you roll over them. Have the windmill move slightly, bird flying by, super simple stuff that would add character to this.

Overall I think if you did a lot of those other things you'd have a game that would be interesting enough for people to play. At that point you'd even have a game good enough to add medals too. Imagine a game with 50 different upgrades, doing a variety of things, with a variety of goals. Maybe even one in depth enough for people to come back to a couple of days to try and get all of the achievements.

As itself it's not very fun, but it's really close to being a game that could be.

EnverArco responds:

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. And I agree with pretty much all of your points. There's a lot of room for improvement here.

I played this like ten times yesterday and even though it's extremely basic both gameplay wise and graphic wise, there's something about it that made me want to come back and play again today. I think it had to do with trying to see how I might do earning money without the actual risk of only coming away with a small amount of money because it was just a game.

So with all of my attempts yesterday I came out with $500,000 two separate times. With only two play through today I came away with the $1,000,000 suitcase. Woo!

I think if you found some ways to make this more visually appealing this could be improved, but kind of fun nonetheless.

Mocha2007 responds:

Nice! Maybe you'll make it to the top of the multimillionaire board! :D
