How the hell did I miss this?

Fucking great man. I love zombie movies/games/everything. I could even see this being used on a real movie or something for the credits or something like that. Pretty fucking sweet in my opinion. Like always your vocals just completely make the song worth listening to. I guess I don't have to tell you that I added this to my favorites because it should be pretty obvious that I loved it. Angelsdontkill did a great job on the track with every thing. This is a complete song, great job.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks very much man. I really dig the whole zombie genre thing. Angels is one of my favorite musicians. He's been pretty inactive as of lately, but... its ok, I know he'll be back with hell right behind him.

This is definitely on my to -redo - list. Yeah, I say that a lot...but this one definitely deserves some fixing up. I will PM you for sure, if you are interested in hearing an updated version. :D

Thanks again for the review, my friend.\m/

Nice job.

Great heavy metal song all around. There was very good guitar and decent drums. Perhaps the drums could have sounded a little bit more powerful, but not too bad I guess. I liked some of the sound effects that you through in there also right before the little solo. On that subject pretty nice solo and everything man. I think would be very good with vocals, but it's really good without them also. It just has the length to be a great submission with some vocals on it in my opinion. Perhaps someone will put them on someday or perhaps they already have I don't rally know. =P Anyway, I don't think that there should be a fade out at the ending. (I know you don't have one, but that's what you said you wanted to put on) I think it might be better to add a series of notes that it ends on, but yeah I will admit even a fade out will sound much better than how this just kind of ends in the middle of nowhere.

Nice job.

I always enjoy listening to a good video game song and this was a pretty good one. First off I would like to say congratulations on having your first audio submission on newgrounds and one that has a pretty score also. While listening to the song I thought at first that it might have been just a little too fast paced, but after awhile I couldn't really decide if it was or not. I guess you do want video games song, especially sonic songs, to be fast paced, but I think you may want to just slow it down just a tad bit. Not too much though. Anyway, hopefully sometime someone who is making a Sonic flash finds use for this in someway. It's not too bad and remember what I suggest was just my opinion. Good luck in the future.

Sonic13k responds:

Thanks for the opinion and for the congratulations, also if I put a lot of effort making this 8-bit remix, I'm sure I can get better.

Not too bad.

It actually almost loops very well even though it's not suppose to be a loop. Not the best guitar, but again not too bad. So much better than I could ever do. It seems that you picked up some clicking noises, which I assume is the strumming. It's very quiet to here the clicking noise so it might not matter too much. Kind of gives it that homemade sound anyway. Well, I really can't tell you what to improve on or anything like that because I sadly don't know much if anything about music except for if I enjoyed it or not. This was a pretty simple submission and I'm not use to hearing these submissions without drums or ambient music of some sort anymore. So I guess the only fault I can find with it at all is that perhaps it's just a little generic and a little simple, but it's really not that bad at al..

link3657 responds:

Thank you for the review.I'm sorry about the clicking noise but my mic picks up EVERYTHING.But about the drums and ambient music,I don't have a drum set or even a program to emulate drums :( as for the ambient music(bass, other guitar, lyrics)I was going to add some bass but a few of my friends wanted me to upload it as it is,I was to lazy to add more guitar, and I don't have a good singing voice :P
But I will take your sorta advice and add bass and stuff like that next time :D

Great

As this was made for a flash animation I will review it as if it were used in a flash animation. This would probably be great if it looped better to be put on any happy/cheerful scene. It would also be a decent introduction/menu song for anything with a happy feeling to it. With the title of the song though I'm a assuming it was going to be used for after you got a high score or after you won a level or something. I could see it being used for that also. If I ever have a need for this anytime in the future I will come back and visit it. It sounds like it could be useful.

Useful is good. This was originally for a game being developed, but the developer dropped off the face of the earth! So if you ever create something that has a 22 or 44 second level, this would work great. Otherwise PM me and I'll go back to the original and round it off into a loop again.

Thanks for reviewing!

Not bad.

Again, it's just rather repetitive and empty sounding. It sounds like it would be great ambient music for the rolling credits of a flash, but I don't see this really being used in the main part of a flash or anything like that. It is kind of relaxing and soothing to listen to though. Overall, just kind of the same thing over and over again, but you do have a nice use of a build up effect here.

Not too bad.

Pretty decent relaxing audio to listen to. Not bad guitar or anything even though there are some spots that don't absolutely sound that great or some strums that just sounded rather out of place. I shouldn't be a critic though since I can play guitar at all. It does sound a little empty overall. Perhaps adding in some other basic instruments such as a slight drum backtracking or maybe even some nice ambient music in the background. Overall, not the best, but not really that bad. Could use a little work.

Hmm

It kind of starts off rather slow and repetitive. You then pick it up a little bit more with some different beats, but I still think that since you are using the same basic loop in the background that the overall sound is kind of repetitive. I like the build up effect that you have with the different noises coming in after a certain amount of time, but I still think that the song needs to get mixed up somewhere towards the beginning or in the middle of the song, without making it too messy or cluttered. Towards the end of the song it was starting to get better. I guess I could see this being used in a flash game or movie though during some rolling credits with a small amount of animation in the background. Overall, not too bad, but the general sound of it sounds just a bit repetitive to me.

Interesting.

During the entire thing I enjoyed the guitar.

The first part was alright and it started out perfectly fine. I do think that it began to become quiet repetitive though with the same exact lyrics throughout the entire section. Perhaps changing up the lyrics a little bit to add more variety would make this part a little better.

The second part was quiet dreamlike I will admit. I do though think that the music overpowered the vocals. It sounds like that's the effect that you were going for, but it would still be nice if either the music was a tad quieter or if the vocals were just a bit louder so they were a little bit easier to understand.

The third part seemed to pick up a little bit, but at the same time remained to be relaxing and soothing. It was probably one of my more favorite parts of the song.

The fourth part was rather soothing throughout the entire part, but it seemed to be a bit glitchy. Again, I don't know if you meant it to be this way or if it was suppose to be this way, or even if it's just my computer messing up, but it did sound out of place a little. The voices here were just a tad bit quiet again, but I thought they were much clearer. I perhaps had sort of a weak ending, but it wasn't that bad.

Overall - The entire thing was pretty interesting. It changed up so many times that it never really good boring and it had a lot of variety in it. The length of the submission is very long. =P My computer had a hard time loading it, but I finally got it loaded.

thnx 4 the great review corky, i gtta give you prop for listening to it all and understanding the 4 movements, the voice has different dynamic when on headphones and i usually mix on headphones, the last part is supposed to sound kinda clitchy, its the part where i question my sanity.

Hmm

I guess I have mixed feelings about this submission. It starts off ok and then in my opinion that pause might have been a tad bit long. It almost sounds like an error. It then starts back up rather slowly. It was a decent build up effect that you had going on with a different noise every time it started over again though. It then started to pick up a little bit throughout the song. After it picked up it was alright. It's not really my genre of songs or anything, but the quality of it was pretty good. I was aiming at a lower score at first, but I think a 7 is around what it deserves.
