[Jim and Pals Shorts: Ep 9]

Hmm different.

First off I want to mention a weird box thing that almost looked like a camera that showed up for some reason all over the screen. What was that there for? Was it suppose to be there or was that a mistake.

Also, it never had a loader or anything for me. It looked like it was suppose to, but as soon as I open the movie up it shows the loading screen for half a second or so and then just plays automatically. That was a little annoying because I had other tabs open and I didn't want it to play yet.

The animation itself was very simple, but I like how you made it work with the simple animation. I enjoyed the style.

The movie made me laugh a little bit, but being so short it was just a small smile. Perhaps a little bit more build up would have made the scene of the guy kicking the seat funnier.

You had a good choice of audio and sound effects in the flash.

Overall it looks like you may have a couple of errors to fix up. Other than that a pretty decent submission.

~ Animation/Graphics ~

The Good Points - For the most part the animation was pretty smooth. I liked the way you changed the guy's face in the very beginning of the flash to make it curvier. It really showed a lot of emotion when you did that. The colors and backgrounds were well done.

The Bad Points - Perhaps not the best drawn, but not too terrible. Just having it done a little bit better would have helped the submissions rating in my opinion, but like I said it was decent, could have just been a tad better.

~ Story/Content ~

The Good Points - This was an interesting flash. I personally never saw anything like this before, so it must have been original enough. I liked the emotion that you used with the guy that wasn't talking as humor. I also liked how you made the picture of the cupcake that the guy drew on the paper animated. It brought more attention to it and I feel added a lot to the animation.

The Bad Points - I didn't really like that you didn't have the guy drawing on the piece of paper, but just the writing showing up randomly instead. Perhaps that could have been something that you could have added. That's really nothing major though and I didn't take anything away for that.

In my opinion the biggest thing about the flash was that I was completely lost. I really had no clue what was going on. It seemed to me that nothing was suppose to be going on and that it was just something completely random, but it wasn't really random enough for me to find funny or entertaining. If it's a parody of something then I honestly don't know what it is.

~Audio ~

The Good Points - There was pretty good sound effects in this animation. The voice acting was pretty decent. The background music that you used was also very fitting for the flash.

The Bad Points - Perhaps the voice was a bit muffled. I don't think it was though. I blame that on my poor hearing and bad speakers so no points off for that just in case.

~ Overall ~

Perhaps just a bit boring. Not too entertaining at all, but a decent flash all in all.

And to think that I was the one to teach you how to properly credit other authors on "flashes"...

Animation/Graphics - Absolutely no points here at all. First off it seems like the theme that you had for this flash was to randomly draw shitty pictures and pretty much make everything terrible for some sort of humor effect? It didn't really turn out very well. The pictures were just drawn terribly. It honestly look liked a little kid drew everything with their eyes closed and just kind of guessed on where to put things.

I recommend practicing drawing for a long time before even thinking about submitting another "flash" again. If you were doing them like that on purpose just don't. It wasn't funny or anything of the sort.

You need to get flash if your going to make things like this. I'm all about movies here that aren't made in flash. I really enjoy things that aren't made in flash, but when you are making something like this it really needs to be animated. It needs to have the actual movement of mouths, arms, etc..

Story/Content - It might have been funny, but you really just tried to hard. It obviously make no sense so you were going for the random effect here, but it still didn't work for you. Perhaps if the animation itself was better the content would improve along with it.

Audio - Hmm, you need different voices for the different people talking. Again, if you were trying to go with something funny here using the same childish 10 year old voice then you just shouldn't. You need a different voice actor for each character or at least make a different voice for each character. You don't have a good voice acting voice either. You may want to work on that.

Overall - It really needs to improve in almost every section that I can think of.
