The beginning has this really creepy sound to it that it keeps pretty well throughout the entire submission. I think when it speeds up a bit it loses that feeling a little, but it still holds it to some extent. I do like the fact that the speed of the song changes after awhile.

It never really gets repetitive or boring and in my opinion it could really be an universal song. It sounds like something that could be used great with credits or an introduction, but also perhaps a sad scene in a movie as well. Pretty good job all around.

Merci beaucoup. I'd love to see this in a movie... at least I hope it'll get spread around enough to be used in a flash on here. That would be swell :)

I was digging it all the way from the beginning, but once you introduced the guitar it got really good. It was a nice mix of genres that you might not hear together everyday and it was done in a very nice matter.

I'll agree that even though it was pretty good and had a lot of variety at first that it does tend to get a bit repetitive towards the end of the song. There isn't any reason you couldn't cut it down and it would probably make it a bit better in my opinion.

Another positive feedback, and I thought people wouldn't like our genre here, seeing how this got 3-4 zeroes like after 1 second I submitted it to the audio portal!!

We really appreciate the criticism regarding the track lenght. As I said in the previous review, we really liked the idea of repeating the solo with very subtle differences in the accompaniment. Perhaps a little more variations would have made the repeated solo a bit more enjoyable to the listener...

Yes, very simple, but yet very effective. I enjoyed it very much because it went back to the basics. Even though it was simple it still had a bit of variety in it. I really liked the fact that you used some voices because it might have gotten too repetitive without them.

I wouldn't have minded hearing the voices being introduced slightly in the beginning of the submission, but it wouldn't be necessary. Even though I said the simplicity of the song makes it good I will also say it seemed a bit empty like a lot was missing from it.

thanks for the kind words! :P

Pretty good all around.

I thought that the vocals and instruments had a nice ratio of volume even though some people thought the lyrics should have been louder. If you simply turn your speakers way up it sounds like it's in the right spot.

I love heavy metal, but I don't think that this is my style at all. I love screaming, but this sounds more like I'm a emo and I can growl and scream and my life is so bad that I'm going to turn to Satan and hate mankind type of bull crap music, but I won't let my joy of life and music preferences effect the score.

The instruments themselves were very good, but there was really never that one specific part where the guitar blew my mind out or anything like that. It was kind of conservative in my mind. I already commented on how I thought the lyrics and vocals were kind of whiny and emo like, but again I can't let judgment effect my score since I'm reviewing on quality.

There's just something about the vocals that tells me this isn't quite here even though I haven't heard black metal like this before. I think the vocals can be improved slightly, but I don't know how.

Hm, I guess that's all I have to say. I added it to my favorites because I knew I wanted to come back to review it, but it really isn't one of my favorite audio submissions. I'll probably keep it there though for future reference. Keep on working.

himenow responds:

This is nowhere near emo. I am the anti-emo.
And whiny how? It's about a man who's oppressed by society and then becomes depressed. His depression then leads him to anger and rage.

And of course everything can be improved. I'm not in a professional studio and I do all my own work, I don't know all the tricks and secrets of a professional studio, but I try my best.

Anyway, thanks for the review. :)

I listened to this like 5 times now. It really has a nice catchy beat to it and I loved the way the song and the vocals went together so well. I really like the effects used on the voice and my favorite part of the entire song would have to be when she said, "Rock this."

Yeah, great song all around. I really don't have much to comment about it as the vocals and the song just seemed to fit together perfectly.

Hm, the first thing that I think of when listening to this song is the originality of it. It really does sound like a lot of other songs out there, but most things have been done and it's hard to be original at times. It never gets too repetitive and has a really nice beat to it, which kept me into the song and moving my head to the beat the entire time. (That's why they call it dance though I guess)

Something that I think might help this submission might be to add some vocals here and there. I'm not asking for singing, but maybe something as simple as counting such as in a part where it slows down and then picks back up, before it picks back up perhaps you could have a voice counting 1, 2, 3 or something similar.

All around though it's a great song to move to and I liked the effects used in it.

Herdunculus responds:

Oh yea! Vocals like that would be awesome! Only, I don't know how to add cool vocals to my music...I'm gonna find out how! Thanks a lot.

AHA!

I added it right to my favorites man it was pretty funny. Completely random all around, but it funny all the way through as well.

The lyrics were pretty funny and well written. The vocals were pretty much awesome as well. I don't know about the high pitch voice that said something after the "Out popped the Easter Bunny..." because it really sounded out of place there for some reason and I couldn't make out what was being said. The two different voices singing at the same time sounded great together though.

Not really much to review here because I can't find much wrong with it, but great job.

TheBardOfBlasphemy responds:

Hey thanks a lot for the review... this one went right under the radar it seems...

Cheers for the feedback, too... glad you found it amusing!

Yeah, that dodgy vocal your talking about: it was never intended to be in the song, just an incidental thing the mic "overheard". It says "that sounds terrible" and it was me, referring to the quality of my singing!!! I kept it in because crapping out a full-grown easter bunny in a shower of hot shit doesn't sound that great either D:

Haha, once again, thanks a lot man. I really appreciate the job you guys do.

It started out great. I could really imagine things just bugging you and bugging you to the point where your head simply clears of what ever you were originally thinking and then suddenly fills up with some of the things that make you angry. So great introduction and it sounded exactly like what you explained in your author comments.

Now for the meat of the song though... I don't think that is what I would call confused or angry whatsoever. If anything that was a very happy sound and something that I would imagine hearing when nothing was getting to me at all. Even though I don't think it represented what angry and confused would sound like I understand that we all experience the emotions differently. I think confused would be better represented as more of a random song and that anger would be more represented as a heavier song.

Towards the end though I can really see where you were coming from with the sometimes angry part. The heavier sound that the song gave did a good job at representing and angry emotion.

If I had to review the song based on your description I think I would have gave it something around a 7, but since I'm reviewing it as the quality of the song all around I'm going to give it what I feel it deserves, which is a 10. I thought it had a pretty original sound to it and that it wasn't something that you would hear everyday. I liked the mixture of happy/angry sounds and really liked the sounds in the introduction. An overall pretty good piece of work.

Birdinator99 responds:

Hey, thanks dude!

Ya, this stuff is a lot heavier than what I'm used to, in my opinion (probably because of the bass part), but I guess it's not really that "confusing" or random so to speak when you think about it.

Thanks for the 10/10 and I'm glad you liked it!

I knew I was going to like this.

I knew that I was going to like this as soon as it started. I'll have to disagree with the guy that says he had heard something like this before because if he has then I want a link to it because I sure haven't.

I loved the sound effects that you used for this and really think that you took some risks with the effects that you used and that they really turned out well! The song as a whole was nice, upbeat, and really fun to listen to.

I feel that it isn't your generic Techno song that you usually hear because of the effects that you used. If anything needs work perhaps it could be how it ends because it just kind of ends without warning. I feel a better series of notes to end on would have been better, but since I don't know the techy stuff about music I can't really tell you exactly what would have made it better.

Good job though!

TheSongSalad responds:

Thanks a lot for the review, I really appreciate it.

Good job Supersteph. You should sign your reviews -I Know More About Music Then The Rest Of The People In The Review Request Club And I'm Going To Show Off By Using Up All Of The Characters In My Review-

This song... I can't just put my finger down on it. I can't really tell if it's a happy song as it does seem to be a happy song, but at the same time it's so laid back and relaxed in most parts that it almost has a different feel to it also.

Almost a feeling that someone is really happy that something is over, but at the same time kind of upset that the adventure has to end. Or some other kind of sappy stuff such as that.

The song was pretty enjoyable all around though and props to having an awesome sounding ending as a lot of songs just seem to end or fade out, but you had a cool twist to the ending.

Will responds:

Thank you, I'm glad you liked the ending! Like I said to Blush, it was purely experimental, and mixed opinions are exactly what I want since it gives both views of the outcome.
