Not too bad guys.

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Reviewing collabs like this isn't always the easiest thing because sometimes some people are really good, some are alright, and some are really bad. For the most part I can say that nobody was really bad in this. I will admit perhaps a few weak links here and there, but for the most part not too bad. Some really good ones and some decent ones. Can't really mess up a dot too much can you? XD

~ Story/Content ~

I liked the ones that went from just being a dot into turning into bigger things. Perhaps a couple more of those would have been better. I though a lot of the backgrounds used were really fitting. Even the ones that looked like they came from google. :P

Decent idea for a collab. Not really a great idea by all means, but I think it turned out well. I hope your proud of it.

~ Audio ~

I like the song, but I think you should have used a song from the audio portal. I'm never a fan of using copyrighted songs after having some of my youtube videos have their audio disabled. Fuckers. Song went well with the animations though.

~ Overall ~

Not too bad. Good job on this and good luck on any future projects.

Matt2k8 responds:

Thanks Corky.

Good review and i'm glad you liked it.

Wow sorry I didn't like it that much. :(

And I do hate giving reviews like this. First off be careful submitting things like this. It's theft for taking a movie and putting your stuff over it. It use to be allowed, but then it was discontinued. Knox always use to submit voiced over things and then there was a whole law suit thing and everything, etc.. So lesson is be very careful when doing something like this. You could get in trouble with the law.

~ Animation/Graphics ~

I think it would have been better if you did this as your own work such as recreating the scenes with your own artwork and animations or simply by putting some animation over the movie clip so you could count it as your own work slightly.

~ Story/Content ~

A little funny, but I didn't enjoy it too much. I think that if it was a minute or two longer then there would have been room for more jokes and more humor. Perhaps then I would have liked it a bit more.

~ Audio ~

Decent voice acting and the voices were synced up decently with the mouths movements, which I understand can be hard to do.

~ Overall ~

Be careful submitting something like this. A well done dub over, but to me it wouldn't be something I would submit unless I added animation and made it a bit longer.

Sorry for the bad review. :( You always give me good ones, but since this came through the RRC I had to be as honest as I could.

ForNoReason responds:

Thanks for your concern over this sir, it is appreciated. I will be careful, and I understand what you are saying. This was more or less a test of how to work with some ideas and I thought it was funny enough to post =p. I have another project in the works and I will read up on all possible legal issues and be sure to address them before hand. My future projects will be longer with more jokes and better range to show off my VA. I appreciate you being honest and thanks for the critical review because it will be helpful!

AH HA

Sorry for not being able to attend the Silent Hill meetup. I have to work and everything down at college exactly on the 19th. :(

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Perfect like usual. Your stuff is always awesome. You've really came a long ways since I've watched your submission at the computer fair that one time. Really good all around. Good use of shadows, very smooth animation, and great artwork. You have it all.

~ Story/Content ~

You hit an interview right on the nose. Being into movie making and TV a lot I've interviewed governors, senators, etc.. other big official people like that. This is exactly how I felt throughout the entire interview. Like I had to act interested in what they were saying, but in reality you don't even listen to them.

Really made me laugh in a few spots like most of your stuff does. Good humor all around.

~ Audio ~

Good voice acting, sound effects, use of music, syncing audio with animation, etc..

~ Overall ~

Wonderful as always. I'm very impressed that you did this under 3 days as I couldn't ever do it no matter how long I had.

Keep up the amazing work and don't forget me when your famous and making millions.

Pixmintro responds:

Thanks man, good news for you, the Meetup is now the 26th and 27th I guess. :D Glad that you liked it and god, that Computer Fair movie would never end up on here, hell I'm even embarrassed to look at my stuff from last year lol. Anyway thanks, it took 3 days because like 90% of the episode was originally just rearranged scenes from Ep. #2.

Not bad sprite work at all!

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Like I said not bad sprite work at all. The quality of the backgrounds might have been pretty poor in a few spots, but it seemed like that was because you were using zooms, which I would like to add you used pretty well. Good job with the pans also.

Could you tell me where you got those backgrounds from? Especially the animated background. That was pretty cool.

Good sprite work all around. Animation was very good and smooth.

~ Story/Content ~

I liked the story that your building up here. I think the subtitles were a little hard to read. I wouldn't mind a next button when I'm finished reading and perhaps a transparent black bar with white letters inside of it would be a bit easier to read. The buttons that you had to pause and stuff were nice and useful as I had to pause almost immediately to go do something.

~ Audio ~

Not bad at all. Sound effects were synced well and everything else like the music was perfectly fine. I wouldn't mind seeing voices in the next episode as that seems to make sprite animations or any animation more interesting and keeps the viewer glued to the screen. Then you would have to make a mouth animation of course.

~ Overall ~

Not bad, I think the only thing I could pick out as the bad quality was the difficulty in being able to read the subtitles at first because I didn't know where or when they were coming.

mortis5000 responds:

Yes all that will be changed next time thanks for the review and check out my other animations!

Good job.

~ Animation/Graphics ~

I always enjoyed the notebook paper/animation over the paper type of flash. I've seen it done quite a few times with my 5 years on this website. I don't think I've ever seen it done with the ripped paper though. Kind of added to the sad effect/style that the submission gave off.

Drawings were done very well. The animation was very smooth and I'm impressed with it since the animation was done with FBF. There really wasn't much room for tweens though.

~ Story/Concept ~

Like I said I've seen this done on newgrounds a lot, but have always enjoyed it. There were a few scenes that I wish you would have taken further. Such as the hand over the rose and the gravestone because they were simply pictures. I wouldn't have minded seeing some animation with them such as the hand grabbing the rose and then the pedals falling off into the transition of the gravestone with a shadow beginning to be created to represent death, which would go along good with the theme of the submission.

~ Audio ~

Good choice of music and I don't see any room for improvements in this part of the flash. Very fitting for the animation and graphics at hand.

~ Overall ~

Nicely done, wouldn't have minded seeing some things taken a little further because I got the sense of "incompleteness" when I was done watching this submission. Keep up the good work.

~ Review Request Club ~

Zyphonee responds:

Ghaaaa, did you read my mind or something?! The parts with the rose and the grave were animatics, I would've loved to develop them further, the hand was actually supposed to grab the rose and get stug with a torn, and I had thought about doing plenty of other stuff, but due to the lack of time, I just couldn't, thank you very much for the review, I aprettiate it!

Keeping the 7's rolling here.

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Some really good animation and graphics here. A lot better than I could ever imagine doing. Well drawn, smooth animation, etc.. Good job all around.

~ Story/Content ~

Aw, why wasn't this included in the collab? Very odd piece of work I have to admit, but not too bad nonetheless. Just kind of completely random and never really had a real clue about what was going on at all.

The ending was kind of cool with the Everything by Voodoo. Perhaps that could have been included at the beginning of the flash?

~ Audio ~

I think it needed more sound effects. The music that you chose though was pretty good all around. It went well with the animation.

~ Overall ~

A bit odd, but still good submission. Sound effects would have made it a bit better in my opinion.

~ Review Request Club ~

Voodoo responds:

Yeah, my biggest problem is, I can't have a decent plot.

That was great!

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Everyone had their own great style and it really was shown here in the submission. I wish I could draw/animate half as good as any of you guys. I'd be making flash submissions all the time if I could. Great job guys!

~ Story/Content ~

What a great idea for a flash. It was awesome seeing the different ways people interrupted different sounds. A lot of people seemed to go with the rubber ducky for some reason though. That might have been nice if it was changed up a bit.

~ Audio ~

Great selection of noises and everyone did an amazing job making animations to go along with the sounds.

~ Overall ~

A great idea, great collab, and great outcome as a flash submission. Good job on the 5th place medal even though it might deserve a little bit more than what it's received so far.

Graeme responds:

Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it so much :D
I love reading reviews like this! Especially ones that tell me I deserve more praise
;)

Potential it is!

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Great job. I really enjoyed your style here. Great art work and graphics and pretty smooth animation all around. I think you have a lot of talent and I should check out more of your flashes sometime.

~ Story/Concept ~

I also have a lot of unfinished stuff that I could throw together in a flash submission and submit, but I wouldn't be proud of my stuff. :P It's unfinished for a reason. Now your stuff though.. if you had a writer or someone to make a story/plot for you I think you could go a long way. Perhaps even to the point that you were one of the top artists on newgrounds.

Need a writer I've written for quite a bit of stuff before so you can always send me a PM.

I do like the idea of a flash submission showcasing unfinished stuff though. Great pieces all around.

~ Audio ~

Ha, quite a comical song in my opinion. Went almost perfect with your animations. Good job with the choice here.

~ Overall ~

Remember if you ever need a writer I'd be more than happy to do it. You have a lot of talent and this was a good pile of unfinished work.

~ Review Request Club ~

Imacow responds:

Hey thanks a lot, I'll hit you up some time if I need a writer.

*Sorry for late review, life and stuff you know..*

~ Animation/Graphics ~

Very good graphics. Very simple/slow animation, which fit the theme of your flash very well. Great colors used and good backgrounds. I liked the simplicity of it.

~ Story/Content ~

Very relaxing and let's the mind wonder off. I liked how slow the scenes were because it just seemed to fit with how relaxing and calm the entire submission was. Good length to the submission and everything else.

~ Audio ~

Music was well chosen. Nothing really to comment about here. Can't really criticize Beethoven's music now can I? :P Music went along great with the animation though.

~ Overall ~

A nice submission to just sit down and relax to. Very simple, but enjoyable. Good work all around.

Assios responds:

Thanks for a good review :D

Very cool and trippy.

~ Animation/Graphics ~

This is a good FBF submission. I attempted my own not too long ago, but was so disappointing in it that I didn't even think about submitting it or finishing the submission. Any tips?

I liked the hazy background that you picked and the random animations that seemed to follow a good theme. If that makes sense.. random animations following a theme. :P

Anyway, great style all around for a FBF submission.

~ Story/Content ~

Just a random flash, but very trippy. Was fun to watch and kept me interested. I liked the length of the submission as I feel something like this going on for too long could get boring quite fast. So in my opinion good length.

Nothing really to improve here either. Color choice was also done well.

~ Audio ~

Great song to use in a FBF. Got to give you props for finding it and then more props for what seemed to be effortless syncing of the audio and animation. Most FBF flashes do go well with the audio chosen though as long as it's a good song.

~ Overall ~

Not perfect, but I still can't think of anyway to improve really. Not a bad random flash at all. Keep up the good work.

~ Review Request Club ~

ScelesticFish responds:

First off thanks for reviewing it. That part of the audio was actually made for the flash so I wasn't the one syncing it. It would have had some story or moral, but it was the way it was because I originally never meant to submit it. I was thinking I would be disappointing by my work as well :P It turned out good though. Tip wise all I can really say is that practice and perseverance really pay off, save often or you might start to cry, and try not to think of a plot or story at first, just start animating.
People seem to like the textured background and they notice that it's trippy. I smell a sequel!!!!
Thanks for the positive and helpful review!
